Background Information
Kellogg has been providing cereal and snack foods to the Australian community since 1924 when Corn Flakes was first made in a rented premises in Chippendale Kelloggs Corn Flakes proved so successful that a new plant was built at Botany in 1928, where we continue to make most of our cereals today In 2000, Kellogg purchased The Healthy Snack People Pty Limited business located at Charmhaven, on the NSW Central Coast, to produce our snack foods. This facility was significantly expanded in 2004, and now manufactures Kelloggs snack foods for Australia and New Zealand. In 2008, Kellogg acquired Specialty Cereals Pty Limited an Australian manufacturer of breakfast cereal. This manufacturing facility at Frenchs Forest on Sydneys Northern Beaches expanded Kelloggs ability to meet cereal production demands and enter into the natural food segment. We proudly export various Australian made foods to countries in the Asia Pacific region including Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia and the Pacific Islands. Our largest export market is New Zealand. All of the grains we use for our cereal and snack bar products produced in Australia are Australian grown. Our milk products come from Australia and New Zealand. 1

o Each year nearly 17,000 tons of whole corn is milled for Kellogg, making us one of the largest users of Australian corn for food production. Australian wheat is one of our key ingredients including over 77,000 tons of wheat each year Approximately 85% of all our raw material ingredients for our cereals are sourced in Australia. Some ingredients, for example sultanas and apricots are imported as were not able to find a secure local supply which meets our quality needs or in some cases costs. In times of drought Australia sometimes experiences a short supply of Australian grown rice. During such times we have had to import rice to meet our supply needs, but we l move back to Australian grown rice as soon as it is available. All rice currently used by Kellogg is Australian grown.

Kellogg is committed to supporting the Australian community through its strong environmental policy, community initiatives and its thirty year proud association with Surf Life Saving Australia and over ten years supporting Foodbank Australia.
