Part B - INVASION GAMES PROFORMA PDHPE (students are to use one part B proforma for each of the 2 invasion

on game, one page/game, 1 game S 2 + 1 game S 3 Name of the Invasion Game: Bounce & Roll Stage 2

Explanation: This game is played on a Basket Ball court and the students will be divided in two teams, each wearing different coloured bibs to differentiate each team members. The aim of this game is to get the Basket Ball into the Hockey net to the opposite end of the court by either dribbling/ bouncing the ball between your team members. Students are not allowed to walk with the ball, must bounce or dribble it in order to move around the court. Each Goal scored it worth 1 point, the other team can try to steal the ball away from the other team when they are passing or bouncing the ball to another team member but no pushing is allowed to obtain the ball. Why is this game important for this stage? Manipulative Skills Dribbling: pat bouncing throwing: over arm, chest pass, shoulder pass and 2 hand overhead pass Non-locomotor Skills dodging (body leaning from side to side to not get the ball stolen from them). This game is important as a stage 2 game because it teaches the students basic skills that are in most games such as basket ball, net ball etc.. Learning to dribble, pass, bounce, shooting all are vital techniques that are being learnt throughout the game which is useful when playing a variety of sports. Children are learning different throwing and passing techniques such as chest throw, over arm, under arm pass, overhead and jump throw to get more height. Students also learn ways to protect the ball from the opposition team whom are trying to steal it away from them by leaning from side to side, side throws and on stop pivots as seen in netball.

What are the PDHPE skills involved in this game? How? PSS2.5 Uses a range of problem-solving strategies. Decisions making to achieve a goal ALS2.6 Discusses the relationship between regular and varied physical activity and health. Demonstrates a variety of factors that are involved with physical activity GSS2.8 Participates and uses equipment in a variety of games and modified sports. Identifies a variety of skills being learnt that will help when playing other sports. Through playing this game students are learning to dribble, bounce, pass the ball in a variety of ways and not only learn ways to psychically move, but also develop problem solving skills and further thinking to think of tactical and strategically ways to win. Team involvement is a main factor of this game, communicating with other team members observation and attacking skills all play a role in this game.
