I - DIVORCE 1 II - HATE THE PARENTS

Gospel According to Spiritism. XXII: 5 and XXIII: 1,2,3

SYNTHESES: The Pharisees also came unto Him, tempting Him, saying unto Him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And He answered and said unto them, Have you not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. (Matthew, 19: 3-9) DIVORCE a) - Divorce is a human law, whose purpose is to separate what was legally in fact already separated. b) - it is not a law contrary to the Law of God, because only reform what men did, and it only has application in the cases in which the Divine Law was not considered. c) - In the beginning there was no need of divorce, men in the humanity's origin were not perverted by selfishness and pride, and they lived according to the Law of God, the unions were founded in the reciprocal sympathy and not on vanity or ambition, they did not give reason to rejection. d) - The Mosaic Law in certain cases prescribed the stoning wanting to abolish a barbaric habit needed naturally of establishing a penalty. HATE THE PARENTS: And there went great multitudes with Him: and He turned, and said unto them: If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he can not be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, you cannot be my disciple. (Luke, 14: 25-27; 33) He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son and daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matthew, 10: 37). a) Very occasionally certain words attributed to Christ make singular contrast to His habitual manner of speaking, so much so that we instinctively repel their literal sense without causing the sublimity of His doctrine to suffer damage. Written after His death, since none of the Evangelists wrote while He was alive, it is licit to believe that in cases like these the depth of His thoughts were not expressed or, which is no less possible, the original sense while having been passed from one language to another has consequently suffered some alteration. (). b) The Hebraic language was not rich in expressions and contained many words which had varied meanings. Such a one, for example, is that in Genesis used to describe the phases of creation. It also served simultaneously to express a given period of time and the period of a day. Later on, from this situation came the translation into the term a day, and the belief that the world was created in a period that lasted six times twenty-four hours. Another was the word used to designate both camel and a rope, since the ropes were made of camel hair. This is why they translated the word into the term camel in the allegory of the eye of the needle. (Chapter, 16: 2).

CONSIDERATIONS:
Once again we have to take in consideration that we are studying within the Spiritist Doctrine. Well, the problems that Jesus found in the presentation of the Father's doctrine Who sent him, for being a love doctrine, it struggled itself front-to-front with the mosaic laws, in the times of Moses the people were rude and ignorant, and only by force of penalties they were disciplined, with elapsing of the times, Jesus brought moral renewal and incentivation of the spiritual life. What constantly caused embarrassment of the people that was habituated to the free life in the matter, and Jesus with his spiritual doctrine in detriment to the material life, necessarily provoked renewal to the way of thinking or of interpreting the laws, be them the mosaic or the Decalogue one, Jesus trying to spiritualize the man, in confrontation with divorce, being Jesus, the model that God gave us to follow, (The Spirits Book, Q. 625) presented Himself as an exemplar representative, for our spiritual ascension and for our discipline and education, teaching us the most values, eternal and spiritual that: the matrimonial union in the primordial thoughts was not to be divorced.

Having, brought Jesus the explanations that God is love, within that love law, there is no need for divorce, it was a need that Moses granted to unbind because the hardness of the hearts, but that certainly if the spouses love themselves there is not that need. Because we know through the Spiritist Doctrine that there is spiritual graduation; (The Spirits Book, Q. 97-100) different graduations that goes on to the infinite, and many spirits are still in apprenticeship of tests and atonements. That is, still arrested to this world, it happens that a man may marry a woman who may have an inferior spiritual degree to him, or vice-versa, that one be more moralized than other, or more intelligent than other, many times in that unbalance between two different souls, God unites them with the purpose of one to help the other, be it moral, or be it, intellectually, it is a reciprocal need. Thence the Spiritist Doctrine asking that we be tolerant to each other and to accept the defects one to the other, with tolerance, pardon and charity; it is difficult, but with the knowledge that we are all lacking spirits, who knows we are not able to resign ourselves and accept the matrimonial difficulties, as a mission, for our evolution and acquisition of virtues. Jesus taught us, that we should not judge our neighbour, (Matthew, 7: 1, 2) the reason is that we do not know everything about people and we cannot demand fanatically: they should not get divorced. We cannot also say: look, you get divorced to live the way that you want. It is as one says in the saying: The religious persons think like this because they do not feel in their skin." Well then, the most mistake of the people that marry, it is because they think that marriage is happiness; because they believe too much in the story that says":... and they went to the castle... and they lived happy forever more!" It is not well like this, the happiness is deserved and gained, it is worked, he who wants it has to make an effort for that, he who wants to have friends has to be friendly, he who wants to be loved has to love; he who wants to be respected, has to respect; a couple that begins to disrespect themselves begins in disunion danger, for that Jesus taught: "Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." (Matthew, 7: 12). Be it with disappointments, be it with humiliations, be it with difficulties or not, being considered that we are eternal spirits in evolution on the way to perfection, we should make effort of maintaining our marriage, asking to God for forces for us to support and to help our marriage. In case there are not enough faith or knowledge of life, to be, destiny and pain, and as each head is each sentence, if there is who believes in divorce as solution for himself, all is well, the doctrine spiritist does not condemn, but explains that we are spirits reincarnants that it is possible we had in other previous lives got acquainted or offended ourselves, and that in marriage sometimes, although difficult, the spirits are readjusted, they are regenerated and pay their debits, and it is only that. it is enough for a meditation! From this world to the beyond what is worth are the virtues that we take with us and the love, what survives is love, we know from Andr Luiz in the book "Our Home" that his mother had strong affections with her husband and voluntarily she planned to be reincarnated to help him, that due to improper associations, he was in spiritual debt and he needed help, what could only be accomplished by the fact of his wifes loving him. As the evaluation of a marriage that is difficult to support, the true evaluation, can only be done after both disincarnated, because there is many details that escape from our eyes or senses, due to the vicissitudes of the material life. The more a spouse bases on the matter, more difficult it is to hold a whole life in union and harmony, and it can also happen for religious inequality or unjustments others that do succumb them, once again the prayer and the constant prayer is a resource, inestimably necessary! May then God so want, there to be more matrimonial love in the world and less divorces or need of separations, and there are separations that are done hurriedly without analysis or consideration and the beyond sometimes answers: if, oneself waited for a little while that proof would have finished with merit of being worthy of spiritual considerations. (The Spirits Book, Q. 171 & 663).

CONSIDERATIONS ON THE STUDY OF: TO LOVE JESUS AND TO HATE THE PARENTS.
This strange moral, seems even coincidentally to coincide with the study of the divorce, let us see that off the marriage is born the opportunity of a spirit to reincarnate himself to give continuation to his evolution and progress, marriage is the most important part of the material life, because it is from it that the opportunity of the spirits to descend into the matter comes.

Be marriages legal before man or not, it is true that of man's union with the woman, the children come to the world, it is at home that a child grows and has the opportunity to lose past addictions of the spirit, and gain new attitudes, new virtues, those souls just arrived into the world, they hopelessly need the parents' moral and intellectual help. The home is the contact point, there the child learns how to love, and why not, to love a lot, and very much even; the father and the mother they are them that give him affection, love and everything that they need! After they develop that love and seek a more perfect love, more durable and fairer, they seek in the religions and in wise persons and they are faced with their true self, their own self, and the need of spiritualizing themselves, to that Jesus being: the door (John, 10: 7-9) of the spiritualization, being the exemplifier of the Father's doctrine, which is love, He explains that children have to love less the parents than to Him. Nothing more fair, because the spiritual love is stronger than family blood love, and our having to ascend spiritually for the true and eternal life. That does not mean that we should not love our parents and respect them, but that we should understand, to give more value to the spiritual life, unhappily this teaching which Jesus gave was and is taken literally and one see so many, that when embracing the Gospel they abandon their parents to Him, and they say that they do this because Jesus so demands. (Mark, 16: 15). And cause in doing so a great confusion, so much to the family as to themselves. We know that many parents with more than a son have capacity to love all, the love they give to a son, does not discount the love they give to others, thence one sees oneself that the love that one feels to our parents does not discount the love that one gives to Jesus, hence Jesus knows about that, and he does not say selfishly: they have to hate the parents and love me, no, the translation is definitively badly interpreted, what Jesus must have really stated was, that one should love less our parents than to Him, because to be worthy Of him, we have to love Him very much, because to follow the Gospel or to follow Jesus we only succeed if we have love, because the Gospel demands sacrifices that only with love we can overcome! And, mostly because we are eternal spirits, and once having learned about those truths or about the eternal truths, certainly on giving the eternal values its due place, its fair value, automatically we love more Jesus than our parents, of course is a love emotional, spiritual, pertinent to our being's emotion. And, if we have a superior call for service to the Master, certainly that our parents will understand that call and they are not nor for that offended, especially because if the parents have the notion of the children's spiritual calling, they will be cheerful and happy and they will know how to say to God: May thy Will be done, because this world is transitory, what matters more are the spiritual things, the interests of this world should be left in second plan, to those that have vocation or call of the Lord. (Matthew, 8:22) Well, this is all for today, God bless us as formerly, today and always.
