SOCIAL STUDIES WITH MS. TEXTOR

POSTPONED until June

We are currently awaiting the arrival of our poetry books from American Treasures and would prefer them to be in for our Public Speaking Day. We apologize for the inconvenience but will keep you posted on the new date.

Bridge Books
Summer bridge books are available in the front office. These books are reduced in price and perfect for keeping your student busy over the summer months as well as get them ready for the fall.

SCIENCE WITH MRS. LEE Our scientists have completed their units
on Light, Sounds, and Waves. They are now ready to move on their final investigation of the school year that will focus on Earth Science. They will study different rock types, dig into soil types, and study the movement of the continents. It will be a very hands on unit and students will participate in 8-12 different labs in the next few weeks centering on their standards and objectives.

OWENS Math Minute

Mr. Owens likes chocolate almost as much as he likes math.

Students have completed their Latin America project and they all look amazing! I am looking forward to families checking them out when they stop by on Friday for our poetry cafe visits. The classes have finished their time in ancient Latin America and they have traveled back to the United States to wrap up the year. Students will be learning all about economics and the American economy now that we are headed towards the end of the year. The classes will be able to explain and describe what economics are and the different types of market economies that countries have. Students will then be discovering the economics of the countries we have traveled to and comparing them to the United States. This will continue throughout the weeks.
A big thank you again, to all family members that positively reinforced your students hard work. All of the projects look fantastic :)

Math Rotation 3 will be working with volume and surface area. Math Rotation 2 will be working with Pythagorean Theorem and Volume. Math Rotation 1 will be working with area of circles, graphing linear equations and taking the geometry unit test. Students are encouraged to use calculators for much of the math which is going on right now.
