LABOR LAW WORKSHOP

Rest & Meal Breaks: Brinker is here now what?
We will review the state Supreme Courts landmark Brinker decision, providing long-needed guidance on California employers rest and meal break obligations. Some of the important points covered include: Who must receive breaks and when must breaks be given? How long can employees go without a break? When must employers require employees to take breaks (if ever)? What could an employer do that might accidentally violate Brinker? Our discussion will also cover steps employers should consider, such as training supervisors, and practical ways to avoid penalties. There will be plenty of time for questions, too! Presented by Richard Rybicki of Rybicki & Associates, P.C., a management-side employment law firm based in Napa.
