Thank you for your interest in the June Holiday Revision Programme for General Paper. The June Holiday Revision Programme focuses on ensuring that all students acquire the necessary essay writing and comprehension skills required for their General Paper examination. During the programme, all students will be taught on how to develop their spontaneous thinking skills to create a persuasive and systematic order of argument and express their arguments in the respective paragraphs to support the development of an effective essay. As for the comprehension, the focus is on the skill development on reading, extraction of information and answering techniques that will enable to comprehend the different types of questions for their comprehension paper. As for factual knowledge, it will be conducted during our regular tuition class after the June Holiday Revision Programme. Our General Paper Programme seeks to enrich the students with at least nine topics of factual content that will adequately prepare the students the necessary knowledge to answer most of the essay writing questions. During the June Holiday Revisionary Programme, one topic of factual content will be taught and used as the basis of teaching for skill development. Simon @ 96890510 Email: simon@economicsfocus.com.sg Page 2 of 3 Aims of the June Revision Programme for General Paper The workshop aims to inculcate in students the necessary skills to think and write in a poised and structural manner and read, comprehend and answer the various types of comprehension questions effectively. The main focus is to ensure that students can derive spontaneous and correct answer within a short time frame (10 minutes for this thinking aspect) and write in an orderly, sensible and rational manner as required for academic essay. For comprehension, the main focus is to nurture effective reading behaviours and cultivate answering skills that will enable them to score on both the content and language aspects of test for the comprehension passage. Methodology of Teachings The focus of the programme is to inculcate in students the knowledge of the topic and imbue in them with the essential skills of application of the knowledge to excel in examination. During lessons, skill development is taught with given outlines and quick notes to show how skills are applied in the different aspects of learning. Class practices on essay writing and comprehension techniques will be given to train the students in their application of knowledge. (Please refer to the time schedule) Fee and Terms for the programme Fee for the workshop is $ 440 ($110 per session x 4 sessions). $40 discount is given for full payment for the tuition before 26/5/12 (Sat).
