Mimics
The standard in 3D image processing and editing based on CT or MRI data

Mimics software allows you to process and edit your 2D image data, such as CT, CT or MRI. From these 2D data, the software allows you to construct 3D models with the utmost accuracy and flexibility in an extremely user-friendly environment. Use its powerful segmentation tools to edit your medical scanner data, or perform a variety of measurements and engineering operations directly on your 3D model. Depending on what you want to do next, you can export your 3D data to a range of output formats. Materialise has extensive experience and knowhow in rapid prototyping (RP) and CAD/CAM. Currently, Materialise is a world wide leader in preparation software for RP machines. Materialise developed algorithms for automatic support generation for stereolithography, and a full range of algorithms that facilitate the transfer of STL files to RP machines: slicing, shrinkage compensation, colouring, nesting, cutting, labelling, file compression, etc. Several RP machine vendors are offering special OEM versions of Materialise software in combination with their machines. Others have subcontracted portions of their software to Materialise.

Materialise SDS developed a customised version of Magics, its STL handling software. This colour STL package is tailored to the needs of users of 3D printers, enabling them to design files for optimal printing of full colour 3D models. Another machine manufacturer requested the development of 3D nesting technology. This resulted in an advanced 3D nesting module in our Magics software, available exclusively to the customers of the manufacturer in question.
