Dear Parents and Children

The sun shone as the whole school walked to St Thomass Church for Mass. The children were excellent ambassadors and the Holy Spirit was definitely present through the beautiful Pentecost Lanterns that each class prepared. The lovely weather this week has reminded us that the children need water bottles and sun hats in school, and sun cream to be applied at home. We are introducing from Monday a new cooling down period at the end of the lunch break. The children will rest in the shade and make sure that they have had a good drink and are cooled down, so that when the children come in they are ready to start their afternoons learning. There will still be lots of running around time though! The children will be taking their water bottles out with them so they are always able to stay refreshed. It really helps if you can make sure all bottles are named. Water bottles are available from the school office for 50p. We look forward to welcoming you to the Jubilee Picnic on Friday (see below for more details). Mrs. M Sanderson

remember to order your packed lunches for our Jubilee celebrations (last day to order Monday 28th May). The school is looking forward to celebrating the Jubilee on Friday 1st June in a right royal fashion! Bring a picnic and rugs to join your children for a Jubilee picnic. The afternoon will include a Puppet Show, country dancing and of course a parade of the wonderful costumes. The theme for the costumes is Jubilee it could be kings, queens, Union Jack colours or something even more unique. Let your imagination run wild! This Jubilee mufti for the day is 1 for FOSTA. School lunch on this day is Union Jack boxed picnics. These must be ordered by Monday. It will be a lovely family celebration so if you wish for your child/children to sit with you during the festivities then please do collect and sign them out from their class teacher after the Parade. This means that your child will be with you for the rest of the afternoon. Any children who do not have a parent with them will celebrate the afternoon with their class teachers.

Photos As we look forward to our Jubilee Day can we take the opportunity to remind parents that
any photos taken on school grounds should be only of your own child/children. No photo that contains

another child even in the background should be taken and used on social network sites such as Facebook. There are often situations within school that mean we must enforce this. I know our parents will support us with this decision so that all our children are safe.

Packed lunches for school trips Emma, our wonderful cook, is always happy to provide a
packed lunch (1.85) for school trips. These must be booked before the day of the trip. Watch this space for some cooking fun with Emma for our children!
