THE INDOOR IPL

Im a big fan of CSK and the blend of cricket they play ....I have been following them from the very first season and more often than not they have played like champs..The real champs...And they very surely resemble the brilliance of "Manchester United" in IPL...!!

But somehow this season i have not been very sure about the "champion" part of our "champion" side..!!

But, suddenly when I see that BCCI president N. Srinivasan owns this team, Chairman of selectors Krishnamachari Srikkanth is the promoter of the team, almost everyone who has played with CSK got to play in Indian team. Players like Saha, Manpreet gony, Joginder Sharma, Murali Vijay, Ashwin(all by any standards are not the best available talent in the country) all got to represent country. And on the other hand guys like Pujara, Manoj Tiwari, Rayadu ,guys who have been performing excellently in domestic cricket have hardly got a look in. Was that because of their sheer caliber or the CSK brand or the people behind CSK who are giving them these chances...?? Were they only the best available option in the country..?? Now we have even started hearing about the enormous talent of Anirudha Srikkanth (son of Krishnamachari Srikkanth) .With a lot of help from his bosses and a little bit of talent, Im pretty sure ,he may also make India cut one day. Hence, it starts casting serious doubts to us about the way IPL and in the broader picture the beautiful game of cricket is being handled in our country !!

And then came these spot fixing allegations. And then Im forced to think about the "exciting matches" that have been played this season.

there have been 19 fixtures till date going down in the final over with the ten matches been decided in the last ball....teams that are cruising suffer inexplicable collapses only to mount a dramatic late recovery....now people may argue that the format is such that close finishes take place...now my concern is that, are the matches really being exciting or they are just artificially

being made exciting..??Are the matches really being contrived to get such close finishes.?? Im sorry but Im forced to think on these lines!!

CSK could have reached semis only when all the 3 results would have been in there favors...and guess what??It happened. From almost the position of no hope, they were in semis with all the 3 outcomes going their way...surprising right?? or sheer luck?? Or something else??

then Ill like to discuss two very crucial decisions made by Delhi Daredevils which helped CSK in their passage from semis to final:

1. The decision of sending Venugopal Rao ahead of Ross Taylor against KKR, when the match was easily going DDD way, which finally cost them the match n they had to beat CSK now to qualify. Did Delhi throw this match to set up a clash with CSK?? Only the god knows or sorry, even the owners may..!!

2. This particular decision of not playing MORNE MORKEL -the leading wicket taker in the tournament, in their most important match, has surprised many. They drafted in an unknown off spinner SUNNY GUPTA in his place. Knowing very well that guys like Vijay and Dhoni play spin very well and still you have played that guy in place of MORKEL, while knowing Indians dont play him well..!!

Friends, the more astonishing fact is that SUNNY GUPTA plies his trade with Tamil Nadu in the domestic circuit...he also turns out for globe trotters in Chennai first division league...!!

These facts certainly push us a little more and force us to ourselves some very vital questions. I may be wrong but we have our own doubts and i would like board to come up with answers, for everyone's good. Questions like, are the team owners playing some hidden games?? Are they also having a say in the outcome of the matches...??Are the matches being scripted...??are there are directors n producers behind these "artificially exciting matches...??Well, if the answer to all the above questions is yes, then I guess the great game of cricket is in deep deep trouble...!!
