be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD GOD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. * LUKE 24 (KJV) And Jesus saith unto the disciples: These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And saith unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father God upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. And Jesus led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

JOEL 2 (KJV) Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD GOD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains; a great people and strong, there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. Now rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth you of the evil. Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breast: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Then will the LORD GOD be jealous for his land, and pity his people. Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people: Behold, Ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall

Garden for God is up and running again for 2012! The youth spent lots of time out there during the 30-hour famine, planting and planning and dreaming of the future!! We have planted carrots, lettuces and lots of other healthy things! As always, there is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for watering and weeding. However, if you feel that signing up for a week at a time is unrealistic for you, you can still help! Maybe you have some extra time one afternoon or 10 minutes before a meeting or church function. Just head across the street and pull some weeds or turn on the sprinkler for a bit. Garden tools, the hose, and the sprinkler are kept there for your use anytime and your efforts will be much appreciated by many local hungry people! The Prayer Wheel is currently being updated. As a reminder, the prayer wheel consists of two parts: the inner wheel and the outer spokes. The inner wheel pray-ERs will make the calls to the outer spoke pray-ERs. If you are interested in being a part of the prayer wheel, please see Jennett Stanley. Vacation Bible School is approaching fast! This years VBS program is Sky. At Sky VBS, kids discover that by trusting God, everything is possible. VBS is being held July 23-27 from 6:30 pm 8:50 pm. If you are interested in being a station or crew leader please sign up in the narthex. More information to follow in the near future. If you have any questions please see Melanie Richman. Note: If you are the person that has benevolence envelopes number 90, please see Jen Gardner.

The Missions of the Month for May is Presbyterian Disaster Relief. Please keep this ministry in your prayers. The Presbyterian Disaster Relief Fund is set up not only to help in emergency situations but it also works to support recovery efforts, which includes rebuilding in areas such as the Gulf Coast and Haiti. With our support, whether it be through donations, volunteerism, prayer or partnership, it has energized the work of helping the most vulnerable areas around the world. This mission is supported through our Presbytery giving. Join us for a prayer time every Sunday morning in the youth lounge before church at 9:20am. There are 12 assisted listening devices available for people to better hear the worship service. They are located in a basket in the narthex. CD copies of our worship service are also available every Sunday in the narthex. Local food banks such as Disciples Pantry in Woodstown and Peters Pantry in Elmer continue to be in need of items. We are collecting donations such as peanut butter, jelly, tuna, cereals, pasta, sauce, soups, mac-ncheese, rice and any canned good. Please leave your contribution in the box marked in the narthex and we will make sure it gets there. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
