Respiratoria System Human Respiratoria System 2 x 45 minutes

A. Standard Competence 1. Identify structure and function of humans and certain animals, disorders and diseases that may occur and the implications on Salingtemas. B. Basic Competence 1.2.Find links between structure, function, and process as well as disorders or disease that can occur in the respiratory system in humans and animals (e.g. birds). C. Indicators to archieve competence Identify Human respiratory equipment. Express the function of respiration equipment. Describes the concept of respiratory mechanisms. Know the volume and lung capacity. Mention the factors affecting respiratory frequency. D. Objectives Mention the composition of respiratory devices in humans. Describe the function of each breathing apparatus. Describe the process of inspiration breathing and expiratory. Clarifying the mechanism of chest and abdominal respiratory. Identify factors that affect the respiratory frequency. E. Teaching Materials Human Coordination System F. Teaching Methods Discussion

G. Teaching Models TPS (Thinks, Pairs, Shares) H. Teaching Learning Processes 1. Introduction (10 minute) a. Remind the students about the previous meeting which is talking about Food and Digestoria System by asking where the organisms energy come from. b. Grouping the answer and link it into Respiratoria systems. Then give the concept that changing food into energy occured after it had passed respiratoria system. c. Motivate students by asking: - Who can tell me a little about respiratoria system? What is that? - Can you show to me, how is human take a breath? - Where is the oxygen gone? Can you feel it? 2. Main Activities (70 minutes) - Teacher explain the matter (globally) about : (20 minute)
o o composition of respiratory devices in humans and their functions (use the slides to show pictures and students make a note if necessary) The process and mechanism of the human respiratory

Teacher asks the students to make a group of two to three (pairs or trio). Teacher gives a worksheet to each group and tell about the rule of working. Teacher guides the students while theyre working in groups.
o

Students do their worksheet together.

- After about 30 minutes, teacher leads the discussion about the paper. - Every two group, a student will draw about their groups conclusion. 3. Closure (10 minute) - Teacher collects the paper of students worksheet - Teacher assigns a group (of four) to search some articles about diseases of the human respiratory system that very common at the time. - Teacher make conclusion and give the information which is missed by students.

I. Sources - Biologi Makhluk HIdup dan Lingkungannya (Endang Sri Lestari) - Biologi SMA untuk Kelas XI Esis Erlangga (Diah aryulina, dkk) - Slides of Respiratoria systems J. Evaluation a. Technique Written examination in subjective and objective test form. b. Instrument Question : Oksygen that we get from the air (environment) will be used for metabolism processing to produce energy. The activity to take the O2 called. a. Crebs cycle d. glicolysis b. Ekspiration e. inspiration c. Transpiration

Worksheet Class : XI -Science MAN Model Name : Objective : Mention the composition of respiratory devices in humans. Describe the function of each breathing apparatus. Describe the process of inspiration breathing and expiration. Clarifying the mechanism of chest and abdominal respiratory. Identify factors that affect the respiratory frequency.
What do lungs do? The lungs take in oxygen, which all cells throughout the body need to live and carry out their normal functions. The lungs also get rid of carbon dioxide, a waste product of the body's cells. The lungs are a pair of cone-shaped organs made up of spongy, pinkish-gray tissue. They take up most of the space in the chest, or the thorax (the part of the body between the base of the neck and diaphragm). The lungs are inside in a membrane called the pleura. The right lung has three sections, called lobes. The left lung has two lobes. When you breathe, the air: enters the body through the nose or the mouth travels down the throat through the larynx (voice box) and trachea (windpipe) goes into the lungs through tubes called main-stem bronchi o one main-stem bronchus leads to the right lung and one to the left lung o in the lungs, the main-stem bronchi divide into smaller bronchi o and then into even smaller tubes called bronchioles o bronchioles end in tiny air sacs called alveoli

the diagram below!!

Give an explanation : 1. Nose as a filter and thermoregulator and clean the air 2. Farink 3. .. 4. .. 5. .. 6. .. 7. .. 8. Diafragma .

There are 2 phase on respiratoria system, inspiration and expiration, explain about both in divided based on the kinds of respiratory muscle activity (Diafrgama and thorax muscles) that showed by picture.

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

a) Inhaling (inspiration) _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________

b) Exhaling (ekspiration) _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________ _____________________________________________

Inhalation and Exhalation are happened about 15-18 times in a minute. But this frequency is different of each person because of some factors. Please mention 5 Factors that affecting respiration.
