The maximum score that is achievable for each section is shown. Contestants are encouraged to conduct independent research via the internet, to consult Mercy Corps Market Opportunities Guidebook and Awareness Binder and seek assistance from parents and qualified professionals in preparing a high-quality business plan. Section One 1. Executive Summary

1.1 Business Summary (max 12 points):

How to complete this: : Explain your business idea. What you are going to sell, where and to
whom? Explain your business name and why you chose it. Describe what type of business you have chosen to be- sole proprietorship, limited company, etc. Explain why you have chosen that structure. Also explain what is innovative and unique about your proposed business in no more than 500 words.

I want to start with a small scale business approaching towards my actual goal that is i want to open a poultry that will produce 3000 to 5000 chickens at a time and all my product will be sold in local market. I have made a survey of my local market and i am fully assured that i will have no marketing problem here because the no. of poultries in my local are negligible. My ultimate goal is an incubation plant with a large factory of poultry production.... My business name is simple related to my family name and polutriez means not confined to a certain limit.

4 For further details: Log on to: www.startupkashmir.com or Call: 9205379462 / 9906575874

I have chosen Sole Proprietorship as the structure of the company because of the fact that this is the simplest entity you can setup. Both the owner and the company are considered to be the same entity for Tax and Liability purposes. It requires very limited paperwork; it has minimal filing requirements with the government. Taxation is simple too. Just a few more forms on your tax return. Other advantages why I chose Sole Proprietorship are given below: Lower Start-up Costs Ease of Money Handling Less maintenance More profit Less competition Less chance of risk[ if proper care]

1.2

Business Aims (max 8 points):

How to complete this: List three to five goals you want to achieve through your business and
the keys to success for your business. For example you might want to earn enough money to support your family, reach a certain group of target customers, or provide employment opportunities to others. You are also encouraged to include a goal for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), i.e. a social need or issue that your company will help address once your company has achieved business success and has enough resources to contribute back to improving society.

To attain the goal of being a business tycoon. To reduce the shortage of chicken in my tehsil , district and state as well. To give my locals an inspiration of self business. To help my family for economic upliftment. To manage the farm as an efficient & profitable self-operated poultry farming business. Maintain assets in good working condition reduce debt. Diversify in other products related to poultry business. Provide employment opportunity to unemployed youth & mentor/motivate them to start-up their own poultry businesses. Establish poultry farming with local young aspiring entrepreneurs as primary stakeholders possessing equity in the business.

Section Two 2. Products and/or Services (max 11 points)

How to complete this: Describe what your business is going to sell in no more than 500 words.
Businesses can sell two things- products or services. Products are objects, for example clothes, jewellry, etc. Services involve selling time to do something for a customer, for example, a plumbing, car repairs, accountancy, design, etc.

2.1 What are you going to sell? a product a service 2.2 Describe the basic product/service you are going to sell and explain why this is a viable and profitable product/service for your proposed business to provide. (no more than 500 words).

Good quality chicken and eggs .

I have chosen this business because of its high demand and less competition in local market. Everyday i see thousands of birds imported to our market and these are sold here on high rates . it is due to the fact that only a few poultry farms are running presently in our area and the are only able to provide birds to local shopkeepers and no birds of local poultry reach to the market. Also the price of birds in our district is higher than other districts because of fare charges ,communication problems and local road taxes. There is a high demand for poultry in local, national and national markets. Also, Kashmir currently has a limited production; therefore, low levels of competition prove to be a great advantage. My business plan. `````````````````````` I want to start from lesser number of birds ,increasing the number every next farm. Initially providing birds to the local market, as an entrepreneur And after satisfactory gain i will export to other districts and states gradually. I wish to employ the unemployed youth (as a step to help the reduction of unemployement) And to train those who are interested in setting their own business . And ABOVE ALL i want to rise a spirit of entrepreneurship in youth by setting an example .

Section Three 3. SWOT Analysis (max 11 points):

3.1 Strengths
How to complete this: Detail positive things about your business that will make it stand out
against competitors. These might be specific to your product/service or more general, such as your location.

High demand for product. Low competition. Favourable conditions. No need highly trained personne. The business requires limited initial investment & hence could offer high returns on investment. Good market available. High profits. Low risk.

3.2 Weaknesses
How to complete this: List all the things that will require you to struggle to make your business
work. For example, areas that might be affected by your lack of experience or by lack of expertise. Every weakness has a solution. For each weakness, explain what you are going to do to address it, for example, more training to build your expertise.

As a new entrant there can be considerable problems like ,due to lack of experience the birds can get infected causing losses but this problem i can overcome by taking training and advices from experts.

7 For further details: Log on to: www.startupkashmir.com or Call: 9205379462 / 9906575874

3.3 Opportunities
How to complete this: External factors that you and your competitors can take advantage of, for
example, changes in market trends, availability of low-cost inputs, locational advantages, a gap in the market for a product/service you can deliver, etc.

There is a high demand for poultry in local, national and national markets. Also, Kashmir currently has a limited production; therefore, low levels of competition prove to be a great advantage. Also the far flungness of my area provides me an advantage.

3.4 Threats
How to complete this: External factors that could affect how well your business will do. For
example, a challenging business environment, a lack of infrastructure (electricity), etc. that increase the cost or difficulty of running the business. Explain how you will prepare for these and how you will reduce their effect on your business.

Artificial threats are easy to be tackled. Good planning will inshallah reduce the damage from natural threats. I always believe one thing i;e higher the risk higher is the gain.

3) and you must input the costs for these in the columns for Year 1, 2 and 3 . These costs may vary each year depending on how you plan to expand your business . Grand Total Expenses is Total Capital Expenses + Total Operating Expenses. This shows you the total of all your expenses each year. Total Income is an estimate each year for how much your business will earn from the sale of products and/or services. This income will hopefully increase each year as your business expands and becomes more established. Its hard to know exactly what number of sales you will achieve so plan for a pessimistic scenario. Net Income is Total Income Grand Total Expenses. This shows you if your business is covering its costs each year. The Cumulative Cash Flow (CCF) calculates when your business is breaking even as it calculates your costs and income year on year. For Year 1 the CCF will be equal to Net Income for Year 1. However for Year 2 the CCF is Year 1 Net Income + Year 2 Net Income. The Year 3 CCF is Year 2 Net Income + Year 3 Net Income.

Section Ten 10. Personal Motivation (max 8 points)

10.1 Why do you want to become an entrepreneur and why do you think you can succeed in starting your proposed business?

I want start my own business fopr many reasons: Firstly , I want to explore my potentials. In the life of a man there are many desires and wishes ,and I want all my desires fulfilled by this business. I feel very bad when I see somebody wandering here and there to earn living, so I want to provide some help for such people. Also I want to arise a spirit of entrepreneurship in youth by setting an example. I want to become an entrepreneur in order to enjoy the pride of fulfilling self made goals and deadlines. Being an entrepreneur you are able to make your dreams become reality. When you make the decision to become an entrepreneur every action you take determines what vision you want to share with the world Another reason why I wanted to become an entrepreneur is that an entrepreneur is always surrounded by opportunities & excitement of learning something new every day. This is a good thing & to "know it all" there is never a good title to have. Looking forward to these moments of growth as an entrepreneur as they are truly life changing. Another very important reason why I want to become an entrepreneur is earning potential for an entrepreneur far exceeds that of an employee. The life as an entrepreneur often is very flexible but only after you put in the time in the beginning. As an entrepreneur you arent bound to strict time restrictions. As an entrepreneur one can easily designing his own schedule for life on his own terms. As an entrepreneur there is always a satisfying feeling that you are contributing in the SocioEconomic development of the region or community to which you belong. An entrepreneur can undertake these additional activities under Corporate Social Responsibility and sometimes being an job provider to hundreds of unemployed & skilled youth.
