Working Wonders For The Youth Mitch was 15 when he was kicked out of home by his mentally unstable mother. He lived on the streets, stole food, dropped out of school. To ward off the cold, finding grates was the big thing. Mitch was saved from the dangers of the streets by Covenant House, a ShareLife agency. Today, he lives in the agencys shelter and attends its on-site high school. In 2011, ShareLife agencies provided residential programs for 1,500 young people. An additional 40,000 were also given food, shelter, guidance, care and education. Please support ShareLife. Please give generously. You can work WONDERS!

May 27th Baby Shower for Crisis Pregnancy Centres

June 3rd - after all Sunday Masses Please join your fellow parishioners in the Parish Hall for cake and coffee, and bring a small gift for one of the many mothers or babies that receive support from the various Crisis Pregnancy Centres in the GTA. Items most needed include: diapers of ALL sizes, wipes, baby soaps & lotions, towels and wash cloths, diaper shirts and sleepers, crib sheets, cotton bibs and hats, baby socks, formula, and toiletries for moms (i.e. soaps, deodorant, shampoo). New or gently used strollers, car seats and larger items are also needed and greatly appreciated. Proceeds will be divided between: Sisters of Life, Birthright Toronto, Aid to Women & Rosalie Hall. 2012-2013 Religious Education Program Register Now!

Registration for Religious Education classes is now being accepted. Children who are in grades 1 through 8 and attending non-Catholic schools, whose families are Registered Parish Members, are encouraged to register for the classes. Registration forms are available through the parish office. The program is largely volunteer-run, so parents are expected to help out in some way.

Pentecost Parish Outdoor Mass & BBQ Lunch

11:00 a.m. - Sunday, June 24th Mark your calendar! Join with fellow parishioners, outdoors at Our Lady of Sorrows School for Sunday Mass, followed by a BBQ and games. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, to bring salads or fruit, and to assist with serving food and cleaning up afterwards. Pentecost is sometimes called the birthday of the Church. The Gospel for Pentecost reminds us that the Church begins with the command to forgive. Within the family, the domestic church, we learn how to forgive and how to accept forgiveness. The gift of the Holy Spirit enables us to do both. Today is a fitting time to share a family celebration of reconciliation. As you gather together as a family, sit quietly for a few minutes, inviting everyone to reflect upon their need to forgive and to receive forgiveness. If there is a situation or issue within the family that needs attention, spend some time reflecting on how your family might address it. Talk together about how Jesus gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us in the work of forgiveness and to bring us peace. Pray together asking that the Holy Spirit help your family. Share with one another the Sign of Peace.
