The new Lions Chassis family.

The modular concept for buses of all kinds.

High-Tech meets high quality. The high flexibility is one benefit of the new concept. The other is the further improvement in quality. Almost all components come from MANs proven commercial-vehicle technology. Modules are bolted together and no longer welded. The entire chassis is subject to extensive tests in accordance with the latest MAN standard. That guarantees extremely high reliability, high economy and a long life.
Thorough strength tests: Lions Chassis complete endurance tests corresponding to the stresses and strains of 1,000,000 kilometres on the road.

The future will be rolling on Lions Chassis.

MAN is now presenting its new Lions Chassis range to meet customers requirements even better. These motorised chassis form the ideal basis for coaches, city buses and intercity buses that combine premium quality with innovative engineering. The latest common-rail technology, ECAS air suspension, the EBS electronic brake system and the digital Twin Electric Platform System (TEPS ) are all standard features of the Lions Chassis. The electronic stability program ESP is a series feature of the coach and intercity bus versions. In other words: customers have access to all the technical highlights available in complete buses too. Modular freedom to be individual. The Lions Chassis are made up of modules and thus give body manufacturers throughout the world extensive freedom in designing individual solutions. The chassis are all made with a transfer wheelbase to cut transport costs on the one hand and allow the customer to specify his wheelbase on the other.

The Lions Chassis modules.

The ergonomically designed drivers workplace can be integrated in the required position in both left- and right-hand drive models.

The common-rail engines are positioned vertically (D08 CR and D20/ D26 CR engines) or horizontally (D20 CR engines) depending on the type of chassis. The driveline can thus be perfectly configured for low-entry, intercity bus or coach chassis. The engines meet the Euro 5 exhaust-gas standard (EEV as an option) and can also be supplied for compliance with Euro 4 and Euro 3.

The front axle module is, depending on the type of vehicle required, available with the proven rigid axle for city and intercity service and touring or with high-tech independentwheel suspension for use in de luxe coaches.

The hypoid drive axle features a convincingly low weight, a high load capacity, a wide performance range and long oil-change intervals. Depending on the vehicle type a trailing axle can be added too.
