How we do Re-Homing?

1- Halt the Cells 2- Disconnect Cells from the old TG 3- Move the Cells definition to the new BSC 4- On the new BSC , create a new TG 5- Connect the TG to the Cells and the New Transmissions 6- Activate the Cells 7- Delete the Old TG from the Old BSC

Steps to do that First we will receive the data for the site after Re-Homing For example: We wantt to move the site CAI1700 from BSC 1 to BSC 9 and the new Transmission is 64RBL2 1- Get the complete data of the site a. Current BSC, Current Transmission, (From the Report then compare to the data in the System) Assume that the report said that the site is on BSC 1, TG-12, To check: On BSC 1 rxtcp:mo=rxotg-12; (Get information about the Cells name that connected to the TG 12) b. Get Site Configuration, and TRU Positions. On BSC 1 rxcdp:mo=rxotg-12; (Get the number of TRUs) rxmop:mo=rxotx-12-0&&11; (Get the Band that the TRU is working on it) Or we can get this information from the report.

2- Halt the cells and disconnect them from old TG , and disconnect them from the TRUs a. rlstc:cell=1700e,state=halted; b. rlstc:cell=1700f,state=halted;

c. rlstc:cell=1700g,state=halted; d. rxbli:mo=rxotg-12,subord,force; e. rxese:mo=rxotg-12,subord; f. rxtce:mo= rxotg-12, cell=1700E, CHGR=0&1; g. rxtce:mo= rxotg-12, cell=1700F, CHGR=0&1; h. rxtce:mo= rxotg-12, cell=1700G, CHGR=0&1; i. rxmoc:mo=rxotrx-12-0&&-11,cell=all; j. rxmoc:mo=rxotx-12-0&&-11,cell=all;

3- Use the CNA to move the cells to the new BSC First Create A Planed Area For moving the Cells Right Click on the Desktop then Configuration Confiner GSM Radio network Cellular Network Administration Then Click File New Area Planed Area Type Planed Area Name (ex move_cells) Then Click View Cells Internal All Then Click Highlight the Cells we need to remove to new BSC Double Click On the Cell , then Change The LAC value to the New Value Then Click Edit Move Cells in the popup window Choose Target BSC Move

Then Activate the Planed Area Load the planned area to the network: Click File New Job Update Job A new window wills pop-up asking for Update Job Name. Any name can be used Select YES for Fallback Area Select Continue for Action on Fault Then click the NEW button to start executing the planned area.

Update Job checking Click File Jobs My Own Select the Job Name you created (move_cells) it should be in ACTIVE status. When the job is finished you should either see COMPLETED or FAILED 4- On the New BSC Create a TG, according to the new Transmission value (RBL2), and connect the cells to it. You can use any CDD and use the right template to create the Script of the new TG 5- Delete the OLD TG Form the old BSC

On top of it: I like to do everything before actual reparenting. So when we execute procedure, we minimize possibility for error or delay. Normally, we do 300 TRUs per hour. For every cell prepare new name, NCC and LAC. Use CNA to copy, rename cell in the process. In planned area, halt cells (so they are defined halted), change NCC and LAC. Then update only traget BSC. By adjust/cna_export and few ****ed scripts fix neighbor relations - as there is separate LAC and NCC, there is no disambiquity. And fix those CS handover parameters CNA is getting wrong for 15 years! Do not forget VLRs! Then slowly define TGs, connect CHGR and cells, check all definitions.... No hurry, no network impact. For real reparenting, just halt cells in old BSC, reconnect Abis and activate on new BSC. Some handovers might fail, but who cares at 02 o'clock. .Thus, cell downtime is minimal, and never for whole area. Afterwards, clean up old definitions from old BSCs and VLRs.
