Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

Q: Ive installed the software, made sure that the viewing lever is pulled out (if applicable) and still no image is produced using the digital microscope. Why? (For Camera 3 users) A: In order to view images, the default video setting must be set to S-Video. To check if your settings are correct: Open the Motic DS Capture window. Select the Options menu.

Select the Video Crossbar option.

Make sure the Input Video Source is set to S-Video and then click the OK button. Q: When I put the CD in the CD-ROM drive, nothing happens; the software does not start automatically. Why? A: The windows auto-insert detection feature may be disabled. To begin software installation: 28

1. Double click the My Computer icon 2. Right click on the CD-ROM drive icon 3. Select the AutoPlay feature and installation should begin. Q: If spots appear in the Motic DS Capture window while trying to capture an image, how do I fix this problem?

A: If spots appear in the Motic DS Capture Window, the

problem probably lies in the resolution settings. When capturing an image, the resolution defined in the Properties Dialog Box should be the same as the resolution defined in the Windows operating system.

For example, if you set the resolution as RGB24, the resolution of the Windows system should be set to either RGB24 or RGB32. If you set the resolution as RGB16, the resolution of the Windows system should be set as RGB16 as well.
