Executive Summary
After analyzing the existing Creative Advertising Ltd hardware, Tech-NIC found that the existing hardware that was well behind standards, and a comprehensive update of this hardware was needed. Some of the major purchasing decisions made were: Adobe software was considered an unavoidable business cost All desktops/laptops needed to be upgraded to meet the high specification of Adobe Software. The server needed to be upgraded to new faster hardware. Data safety was addressed using online backup and local RAID storage. Minimum security standards needed to be met. The conference hardware could be updated inexpensively. A high quality printer was needed.

Dear Creative Advertising Agency ltd,

We have come up with the best solution to improve your companys equipment as it requires a variety of upgrades. Currently, the mini ATX motherboards which Creative Advertising Ltd. is operating are well behind todays standards in regard to advertising industry standards. Weve chosen a far better setup that will not only provide you with an easier experience to manage applications productively but, also to efficiently accomplish day to day tasks faster via greater performance. In doing so, we are able to replace your current onsite designer desktops with HP Z1 Workstations. HP Z1 Workstation has the ultimate memory when it comes to RAM in comparison to your current desktop. Your current systems maximum random access memory speed per onsite desktop is 64MB. HP Z1 workstations contribute 8GB per RAM sticks and since we have chosen to install two per Onsite, that will give each onsite designer the total of 16GB of RAM, and also supports up to 32GB ECC. We have considered that with high end designing, we will install a 3.5 2TB HDD for their day to day tasks. To complete the set, the Intel Xeon Processor E3-1245 (8M Cache, 3.30 GHz), processor will allow and support your memory which makes it possible for you to have multiple applications running at the same time and other key components to further your designers potential.

For best results, Tech-N.I.C are willing to provide outstanding services, one of these is to make sure Creative Advertising Ltd. is well ahead in the advertising industry from the ground up. Starting with Operating Systems, Although Windows 98 still exists, it is no longer ideal to have as your current operating system. Most certainly, Windows 7 Professional is the best and we have chosen this operating system for your company to suite all criteria due to its capabilities and stability. Creative Advertising Ltd's desktop computer monitors will all have better resolutions, bigger and better imagery, and of course you will literally witness the best qualities a billion times better than your current 15 CRT monitor. Laptops are provided to offsite designers and are capable of supporting large amounts of data, capacity and storage as well as having the best performance requirements, giving designers more efficiency with day to day tasks. Creative Advertising Ltd's administration users will experience higher differentials of data storage capacity in which will provide a higher speed at which your data will travel, reducing downtime spent waiting for data to reach its destination. For administration desktops, Tech-N.I.C will install three HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1240t desktop PCs. With each PC, HP 2011x 20 inch Diagonal LED Monitors are included. The desktop PC for administration includes Intel Core i7-2600 (3.4 GHz 8 MB cache), two 4 GB DDR3 of RAM in total of 8 GB DDR3 memory. It also supports a single 3.5inch 750 GB SATA HDD (7200 rpm) and that is far more impressive than your current setup storage capacity, a lot more will be shown on the specifications listed as we continue.

Since Creative Advertising Ltd will be dealing with high resolution media, we suggested two projectors which can work together and cover the company's need more economically. The PJD6253 Projector shines with 3,500 lumens of high brightness. This resolution and contrast ratio size will provide clear, brilliant pictures and will allow impressive presentations without having to turn the lights off. On the other hand we have the Acer H6500 projector. The Acer H6500 projector supports high definition and obviously provides great imagery via HDMI connectors. In upgrading Creative Advertising Ltds Printer, Tech-N.I.C recommended the Fuji Xerox Phaser 7800 printer. The features of this printer are well suited for the advertising industry, with its ability of printing 45 pages per minute (Colour and Black). Your old laser printer will be moved to the Sales Representatives office, enabling them to print documents directly in their office while still having access to the more advanced printer.

Graphic Design Software
The majority of your company are graphic designers. The type of work these staff do is graphic design, photo manipulation, web design and desktop publishing. In graphic design software, theres only one acknowledged leader Adobe Photoshop. In graphic design software for illustration, Adobe is also the leader, with Adobe Illustrator. In professional Web Design, Adobes Dreamweaver has few challenges. And although Quark Express has ruled desktop publishing for the last decade, Adobes InDesign has been making a serious bid on preeminence. Buying a single seat of a Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection is the least expensive way to buy all of these tools - and more. See Software ->Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection. We choose to buy a single Volume/Concurrent License of the Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection for the following reasons. Buying the Adobe Creative Suite bundle allows you obtain all of the crucial Adobe software, for much less than if the items in the bundle were purchased individually. Buying a Volume/Concurrent License costs 25% more than a normal license, but it can be used by any employee with access to your network at one time. If a non-concurrent license was purchased, then under the license agreement, in any given year, only a single user could ever use this license.

We have chosen to install the Adobe Create Suite on the server so that all users can use the software from their desktops by using remote desktop to access the server. With one license of the Adobe Creative Suite, each application must be used by one person at a time. We have chosen to provide the remotely located designers with free alternatives to the Adobe Suite. (see Software ->Free Alternatives to Adobe Software)

We have also provided the remotely located designers with laptops (see Hardware), so they can choose to travel to the office, and enjoy the same access to the Adobe suite as the on-site based designers enjoy. Laptop and Desktop Machines


We have chosen your hardware (see Hardware) based on the system requirements of the Creative Suite6 Master Collection. (see Software ->Creative Suite6 Master Collection). Onsite Designers The three office based designers need a desktop machine that will at least support the requirements of the Adobe Software. We have decided to equip each onsite designer with these top of the line 27 (diagonal) LED-backlit displays that supports over a billion colors. FYI, this high performance machine is undoubtedly the best machine for the job. In terms of not only its professional looks but also its graphics capabilities.

Administrators The three administrators of your company need a computer that will allow them to This setup (Pavilion HPE h8-12 40t includes) has been chosen due to its Features compatibilities, Performance, Style, and Expandability, it provides the users with the solutions to their day to day work requirements. Offsite Designers + Sales Rep + Conference Room We have selected a total of 5 Laptops for your Employees, 3x for your Home based Designers, 1x for the Sales Representative and 1x for the conference room. Sales Representative Hardware


The Sales Representative needs to keep in communication with the office and the Design team when he or she is off site. As well as a laptop, we also provided the Sales Representative with the following; - Acer Iconia W500-C62G03is Tablet with Keyboard Dock - Telecom Huawei X1 Smart Phone The Acer Iconia tablet will allow the Sales Representative to perform more impressive offsite presentations. The Telecom Huawei X1 is reasonably inexpensive and still contains advanced features such as Bluetooth and email.

Server
Since your company does not have any dedicated IT staff, your server machine needs to be a simple machine that one of the company administrators can operate. We have chosen the This server does not need dedicated IT staff to operate it and so fits with your HR structure. It is also a Tower Base server not a Rack Base server, and so will avoid unnecessary expenditure on a server Rack and technician. Since you do not host any web-sites, we do not see the need for a more expensive server solution for your company. The 3x 2TB hard drives in a RAID 5 formation will give you 4TB of storage to share your large graphics files with the office and the data will be protected from a hard disk failure or data loss event. A BMC Info Mode Server Management Card. This will allow a remote technician to remotely diagnose failures on your machine when something goes wrong. The server comes with hot swappable drives, and an LCD diagnostic display. Both of these work together to enable you to know when a data loss event occurs, and know which one of the physical disks failed, and be able to hot swap the failed disk with its replacement all without needing an IT staff or personnel (picture below)

We have decided to not to have additional monitor, mouse or keyboard for this server, instead we will allow the server to share another monitor, mouse and keyboard using a Belkin Flip USB Audio with KVM switch.

Data Safety
All the staff of your company have a need for their data to be kept safe in the occurrence of a data loss event. Since there will be a few staff within your company working remotely, we have chosen a cloud backup service as your Offsite backup. The Provider we have chosen is DataSafe Backup . DataSafe can backup your data Weekly, Daily or continuously. We have chosen to backup Daily, at night time, so the data is transferred at off-peak times. In addition to the internet back up all local network users are given 100GB network shared that is backed up and stored on the Raid drive on the server. If the backup fails you can rely on the local copies of the data stored on the server. If the LCD diagnostic display on the server indicates that the server RAID drive has failed, you faulty drive can be simply removed from the hot-swappable bay, and replaced with a new 2TB SATA drive. We have chosen an APC Back-UPS pro to keep the server online in the occurrence of a short power outage (see Hardware->API-Backups)

Security
All of the computers in your company require an antivirus software to compliment to security features of the Windows 7 operating system. We have chosen the AVG Internet Security Business Edition to your business. The AVG antivirus is an award winning solution in data protection. This anti-virus can support up to 15 user license annually. This will cover all your staff, the server and the laptops. This antivirus solution includes an antivirus, email scanner, online shield, access to threat labs, and a firewall. Full specifications can be found under Software->AVG Antivirus.

Projector
All of the staff will be giving presentations from time to time. Your company needs a projector solution that can display both crisp text and still images, and also high quality HD video. We have chosen to solve your projector needs by using a combination of a Viewsonic PJD6253 and an ACER 5600 projector for your company. The Viewsonic LCD projector provides crisp display for everything except for high definition images and video, whilst the DNP Acer projector provides high quality display of HD images and video. This solution saves thousands of dollars instead of purchasing a high definition LCD or LCOS projector.

Printer
All the staff of your company will need access to a printer from time to time. Some of your staff will require high quality pre-press and advertising.

The printer we have chosen for your upgrade is the Fuji Xerox Phaser 7800, a print resolution of 1200 x 2400 d.p.i and a high speed print output of 45 ppm (color and black), prepress proofs and visuals can be printed efficiently and urgently on demand, also Pantone color calibrated for greater color accuracy, doubled-sided printing (duplex), also supports printing A4 and A3 sized paper making this machine a leader in the prepress and advertising field.
