Chapter 7

The Holy family settled in Nazareth after the King Herod. When Jesus was 12 years old , he would be old enough to participate the Feast of Passover in Jerusalem. Mary and Joseph failed to locate Jesus among their friends and relatives. On the third day, they found Jesus in the Temple. The teachers are amazed by His wisdom. Mary and Joseph were afraid, but Jesus said Dont you know Im in my Fathers house?( Mary and Joseph were inched ) After that, Mary stored up all these in her heart.

Chapter 8 John the Baptist is a prophet which was sent by God. Johns father Zechariah was a priest. His mother, Elizabeth was a cousin of Mary. So John and Jesus were cousins. Johns birth was also announced by angle Gabriel. When John grew up, he lived in desert. He wore camels hair with a leather belt. He ate only locusts and wild honey. John baptised people in river Jorden. Tax-collectors should not collect more money than what the law requires. Soldiers should not bully people and should be content with their pray. John said: Im not even fit to undo his shoes..He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit. At last, John was imprisoned and later beheaded by King Herod Antipas because he criticized the king for committing adultery.

Chapter 9 Baptism A sign to forgive sins. Say sorry to God. A sacrament. To be a child of God. Grace and love invisible but can experienced So baptism is through the things that visible to get the thing which is invisible(love and grace) When Jesus asked John to baptise Him, then Jesus replied : Let it be so far now; for we should do all that uprightness demands.(It means which is Gods will be done.) After that, the Holy Trinity appear together. Father , the voice; Holy Spirit a shape of dove; Son Jesus. Theres a voice from heaven This is my beloved Son(Jesus), whom I wellpleased.(It shows that the voice is Fathers voice) All these signs shows that God had supported Jesus actions.

Chapter 10 Jesus spent 40 days and nights without food. First temptation: turning stone into bread Satan told Jesus if you are the son of God, order these stone into bread.(Its to impress other people, if we not use our talent to help people, and to show off, its a temptation) Jesus replied The scriptures say Men do not live only bread, but by every word (Jesuss words) that comes from the mouth of God.(His mission was to renew the world spiritually.) Second temptation: falling down from The Temple Satan said If you are the son of God, throw yourself down, for the scriptures say that God will send angels to protect you.( Its a public miracle, to order Jesus to show off, and testing God. Its put God in ransom ) Jesus replied But the scriptures also say, Do not test the Lord, your God. (He is to build up the Kingdom of God by humility, love and service.) Third temptation: worshipping Satan Satan showed all the powers and riches all over the world and said All this I will give you, if you kneel down and worship me.( Its an empty promise; and to ask God to kneel down, worship Satan who made by God?? if we get them(The power and riches) by evil deeds, we are worshipping Satan.) Jesus replied Get away from me, Satan! For the scriptures say, Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only! (The most important of the Ten Commandments) Satan left Jesus for the time being.

Chapter 11 Disciples means learn and follow, which means observe from Jesus. Jesus start recruiting disciples after John the Baptist was put into the prison (learners and followers) Reason: He need their help and continue His work after He left the world. The first disciples are Simon Peter, Andrew(The first) , James, John (The second)(In Lake Galilee)and Matthew(The third). First He saw Simon and Andrew and said Come with me, and I will teach you how to catch men.(Come means follow Jesus, and teach means learn from Jesus, which disciples.) Second Jesus saw James and John, the son of Zebedee. Third, Matthew(Levi) was a tax-collector(publican). Although rich, but have low social status. They hated by Jews and viewed as sinners because they were the running dogs of Romans and publican are dishonest. Table fellowship- people will only eat with the same social level. When Jesus was walking in the street of Capernaum one day, He saw Matthew and said Follow me. They have a meal together with tax-collectors and outcasts. Some Pharisees (The lawyer) saw it and asked the disciples Why does he eat with such people??( It shows they have no respect to the publican ) Then Jesus heard it and said People who are well do not need a doctor, but only those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.( It means that all people are sinners and we should admitting our sins)

Chapter 12 Its the first miracle Jesus performed publicly and tell us about Marys special role in the history of salvation. It happened in Cana. When the wine ran out, Mary said to Jesus, They have no wine.( It shows that Jesus is the solution in our problems) Then Jesus replied her Woman, what does this have to do with you and me? My hour has not come.(Woman means the mother of Messiah, the hour means the time that Jesus need to die salvation) Then Mary said to the servants Do whatever He tells you.(Follow Jesus no matter what He says) There were six stone water jars in the courtyard for Jewish rites of purification. Jesus said to the servants Fill the jars with water(Why the servant will do whatever Jesus said?? Its FAITH. ) After they filled them up and He said Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast. Then the master of the feast tasted the wine, and said Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now. After this, the disciples believed Him. So, Mary is the shortcut to Christ.
