Hi, my name is Andres Felipe Checa. I was born in Bogota, Colombia, one year before I had my first birthday. In other words I was born in June 7 of 1997. Since I was young, I have been very interested in sports and unusual things, such as the magic, and locksmithing. I started my studies in the Saint Gregory Garden, but I dont think that epoch was the more enriching of my life; actually, I dont remember anything. The real studies and enriching moment of my life, was when I started my road in Rochester School, my actual school, and hopefully my last one. Theres not to much to say about me, but I like music, Sports like I said before, like to study, but not to much, I agree with aborts, and I like to learn new things, things that not to many know. I learned to skate when I was 8 years old, and when I had 11 I won a national competition, later I left the skates, and focus my forces in The goalkeeping.

Diana, what do you think aboout the marriage between homesexuals? Well, I think that is an inussual union between two persons, but if that union, dosn`t affect others, everithing will be allright. Have you tried some kind of drugs? do you apove the sell of this substances? Never! And I plan to keep it like that, And no, I dont agree with sells, but if this sells could be managed in a more responsable manner, this problem coul become just a new form of life, that dosen`t hurts anyone. What do you think about the aborts? Would you think in being the voctim of one of them? In my perception, the aborts are a form of killing, killing someone that haven`t has the opportunity that you had, of meating the real world. What`s your opinion about the consuption of drugs in people? I think everyone can take its own decicions, provided that any one else could get affected.

MAMBO
Recently, The students of Rochester School made a field trip to the Museo de Artes de Bogota also know as MAMBO. In which the exposition of the photographer Ruben Afanador is being performed. Some people had some thoughts about how bored was going to be the trip, but actually it was really interesting, specially the activity before the exposition. It was just an easy activity, but it really helped the group for getting interested in the exposition.

The activity consists in the reflection of an image with just a box, a magnifier, and a bulb, but we didnt knew it, until we saw the reflection of our pictures in the wall. After this we began the walk in the museum, appreciating the images, that in my opinion we really strange, in other words, were unique. Right at the side of this article, you can appreciate some photos from the artist, and some of the trip. The images were really detailed, and were easy to appreciate textures that make the image have more impact when the viewer enjoys the pic in a better form.

Well if you havent he was a priest, botanist, mathematician and professor at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota. Why Bottled Water?

Did you know that when you buy bottled water, it`s like wasting your money. It`s clear that the bottled water is necessary, but in places like Bogota, the water that arrives to the houses it`s water that could be more pure hat the one that comes in bottle. This means hat buying bottles of water have no sense if you are searching for pure water. Recently the Rochester School incorporates some little thermo with their own purification system. This could be a new form of helping the planet avoiding the uses of plastic.

Difference between heat and temperature

Heat is the total energy of molecular motion in a substance, while temperature is a measure of the average molecular energy. The heat depends on the speed of the particles, their number, size and type. The temperature depends on the size, number or type. For example, the temperature of a small glass of water may be the same as the temperature of one pail of water, but the bucket has more heat because it has more water and therefore more total thermal energy. Easy? Lets say this in other words The heat and the temperature are related, but are not the same. The heat reefers to the movement of particles in a certain space, while the temperature is a measure of this movement including other variables. The heat makes the temperature increase or decrease. If we add heat, the temperature increases. If we remove heat, the temperature decreases. The highest temperatures occur when the molecules are moving, vibrating and rotating with more energy.

Have you visit a farm, or an orchard? Probably you had, or maybe you had seen some plants programs, in which the fertilizer is just a substance that makes the plants stronger. Well, in part its true, but how does it acts? What could make a simple substance to a plant? Think about it. How can some wastes of animals make a better plant? The principal roll of the fertilizer is to provide nutrients to the plan in a better way, letting the planter take advantage of the faster and better development of the plant. Did you learn this at your school? Probably you did, but have you seen the real process? Maybe yes, maybe no But this question, asked to Rochester School s students, will have a clear yes. This Year, the eight grade students, had start the process of making grow some plants, by different methods, such as the use of fertilizers. This project started recently, and the result most be ready in approximately 6 months or before, but the investigations made by them, before the plants were planted were really professional, are in these the hypothesis of what could happen to their plants were stated. After this investigations were performed, the measures of the initial plats were taken and this measures will be compared in a lapse of time, taking into account that some of this plants were mixed with fertilizers, for making the process by their own eyes.

Biotechnology is a branch of technology that is based on the practical application oriented to human needs, biology, basically involves the manipulation of living cells for the production and improvement of products, such as food or medicine. But, why we continue eating this food? We know its bad, and that in damages our systems, but we keep buying! Lets find other solutions for our body, maybe some salad, or probably a breasted chicken is much better that a hamburger from them. In my opinion, the only reason I go to McDonalds o Burger king is because the money, because their prices are not bad, but consider this, why do they have their prices as low as they are? Because they need to sell, with out thinking in the real consequences the food may generate in people. "Have it your way", or Im LovinIt are the both slogans from his two companies that as you van see are center in the welfare of their consumers, even if the food its not healthy. Had you seen the popular movie called Super Size Me? Its a film which shows you the real world that this companies live, and how this food damages your body.

Representations
Make a representation of a story? Sounds easy right? Why dont you try it? Its easy, just out on some clothes related to the script or the story and repeat some lines. Thats what most people think, but actually is not that simple. Standing in front of many people, people waiting for your next action, people who make you become a nervous person. Did you act when you were young? In my opinion acting its a great activity, and starting since young is the best option, because with this, anyone can improve in its social development. Recently, the eight grade students, from Rochester School made some representations of a popular story called Los Perseguidos. At first the representations were not so good, but with the time they changed to be more and more professional.

The United Nations is an organization of sovereign states. The states are associated with the United Nations to work for world peace, promote friendship among nations and support the economic and social progress. The organization was officially born on October 24, 1945.

Rochester

The United Nations organization was founded by members who signed the "Charter of the United Nations" in World War II against the Axis countries and became the legal successor of the League of Nations in 1946.

Every year Rochester School crates numerous models of United Motions in order of making an activity in which the students learn as much as a real delegate. In February 2012 the Rochester school held a Model United Nations called RMUN. In this model, I had the opportunity to participate as a delegate of a country. The main purpose of this activity is to defend the politics and believes of your country, and with this reaching through solutions by participation in debate in which many perspectives and points are talked.

In conclusion, in the Model United Nations each student learn much about the position of countries on the issues dealt with, also the culture and politics and acknowledges the importance of

international forums to discuss the problems of countries and progress and find peaceful solutions to problems and conflicts that arise between them.

We Live In A World Based On Energy Recourses, How Much do you care?

All The energy our cities consume comes from a specific somewhere, in which the production of energy is based in different kinds of processes depending in the situation of the establishment., and the conditions and requirements of the place. There are two types of energy, renewable energy and nonrenewable energy. Renewable energy is the one that is obtained from natural sources this kind of energy is inexhaustible, also because they are able to regenerate by naturally but are classified in two ways the clean and the not clean. The clean renewable energy is the sun (solar energy), wind (wind power), rivers and streams of fresh water (hydropower), the seas and oceans (tidal power), the heat of the earth (geothermal energy). The contaminants a re derived from organic material or biomass and used as fuel, energy such contaminant has a problem that at the time of combustion this types of energy emit carbon dioxide and this causes the greenhouse effect and global warming. Non Renewable Energy is energy that after being used cannot be reused and also is not found in nature. For example fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, coal), Nuclear fuels (any chemical element that has the ability to produce energy). In conclusion renewable energy is friendly to the environment but not always as available, because we are using all our natural resources. Now its time to save our planet, to make conscious that if we dont care about it, no one will. So, lets start with little things that will be huge after sometime.

The Bioethics

The Bioethics is a small branch of the science that studies the Pros and Cons of making procedures in a life. This studies center their effort in making the people see why some procedures should not be developed, given the numerous act against the integrity of one or more persons. For example, the reanimation of a person its a procedure that the bioethics has been studied for long time, and many aspects have been taken into account such as the religious part, that sais that when a person is dying

is because its his time to die, and this, is the desire of god. But, the church even if they believe this, they also thing that a life most be saved when is possible with out entering in hard and inappropriate methods. With all this point of view numerous discussions and several conclusions are made, questioning the real value of giving back the life of some one. Besides this there are many others cases that are discussed in this part of ethics, like the experiments in humans, the abortion, and the loan of cows.

Recently, the discussion of all of these processes was made in Rochester School by eight grade students, in which many conclusions were made. They discus principally against the abortion of babies, given this is a process that takes the life of a human being, and that risks the life of the mother. Besides this case they talked about numerous others, and made stated conclusions in pro of making proper decisions if they one day most take a decision based on this.

Bruno was not a weak guy, but he always had an obsession with being always accompanied by his dog Logan. Since when was not with him, just his strength and his will to fight was eradicated. One day his dog died while searching for eating next to a dumpster full of biological and possibly toxic waste, which could be the cause of his dead. After this, Bruno spent the night in this dump, crying, feeling helpless and destroyed. He knew that hell need to keep going and as he did with his friend, he will survive. After few months after the death of his dog, he received an offer from a strange but apparently trustful guy. He was meant to be the participant of a dangerous procedure for a huge quantity of money. The process was basically the injection of new and more powerful substances in his body, which will allow several mutations in order to create the perfect soldier. Bruno acceded to be part of this process after realizing, he was actually dying because the lack of food and water. The Experiment or like Brando (the strange man owner of this intervention) name it, process, started in June of 1996, in Moscow. This a book that actually talks about the failure and the incompetence of many aspects in the Colombian government by showing many consequences of normal acts that usually are respected. This text starts with abnormal morning in Coronels life, except this time a funeral was happening, and this situation, is one of the few that are in fact different form the regular events in every day of his life. Recently, a presentation about this book was made in Rochester School by an eight grade Student, in which many aspects of this book were reveled. The presentation concluded with his opinion, in which his stated that even if the books talks about the reality of the country, a text of this magnitude shame our country, given it shows just the bad and wrong parts of our systems, even though the book is pretty good, and let you see the things a totally different and unique way.. Today we know every atom is based on a nucleus, that contains the neutrons and the atoms, and in the outside the electrons are located. But years ago, the theories about the forms and structure were to much, and given the reduced ways to prove the facts, it kept many years as that. Last Month, Rochester school students made an investigation about free fall and what factor influence in this situations. They made an experiment in which the purpose as to let a egg fall with a parachute and make a clear and soft landing, preventing it, to got broke. At first it seems to easy, state a group of this investigators, but later, we notice that we most take many factors into account for making this in a competent way. We at last, concluded that the more effective form was to make a round parachute, or an oval one, for making the flood of air more regular, and very little quantity of weight for not making the parachute to close it self.

The Rabbit and the Turtle

One day a rabbit was boasting about how fast he could run. He was laughing at the turtle for being so slow. Much to the rabbit's surprise, the turtle challenged him to a race. The rabbit thought this was a good joke and accepted the challenge. The fox was to be the umpire of the race. As the race began, the rabbit raced way ahead of the turtle, just like everyone thought. The rabbit got to the halfway point and could not see the turtle anywhere. He was hot and tired and decided to stop and take a short nap. Even if the turtle passed him, he would be able to race to the finish line ahead of him. All this time the turtle kept walking step by step by step. He never quit no matter how hot or tired he got. He just kept going. However, the rabbit slept longer than he had thought and woke up. He could not see the turtle anywhere! He went at full-speed to the finish line but found the turtle there waiting for him.

MORAL: Slow and steady wins the race. As The original moral sais, the important its not the ability someone have, the matter is the determination you have, and how you manage the situation, because with hope and expectation, huge things will occur.

This is a fun and functional piggy bank! When we received it we immediately emptied the old piggy bank and started inserting coins into the Digi-Piggy. It was fun to put the coins in; both my 7 year old and 2 year old enjoyed pushing them into the bank. My daughter was very excited to learn that she had almost ten dollars; I could practically see dollar signs in her eyes! I will definitely not miss having to dump all the change out and counting it every time my daughter wants to spend her money. The LCD readout is very clear and you can watch as it counts each new coin. Water Wheel.
A water wheel is a machine designed for converting the energy that produce the flowing water into electricity.. These wheels consist in a metal or wood wheel with special blades arranged at the outside of the wheel where the water will hit after falling from a upper part. When the power that the water has, passes to turning the wheel, this friction and movement generates electricity by changing the polar poles located in the motor of the wheel. When this happens, the polar poles turn and generate electrity used for several kinds of needs. Usually these wheels are constructed in big sizes, but making a little one is also possible, but for this, the quantity of power that it will generate will in fact be very low. These little wheels may be constructed using several forms and materials, if them are atrophied for these types of uses. There are some aspects that must be talking into account for making a good and functional water wheel, for example: The resistance, the weight, the location, the costs, and the axis that will support it. First you must make the principal part of the wheel, which will be the one that turns and make the motor produce energy. Then you put the outer part of the motor inside the polystyrene making sure that when the wheel turns the little stick in the motor also turns.
