CALL FOR PAPERS


ICIAR 2012 is the 9th conference of a series of ICIAR conferences organized in Portugal and Canada. Authors are invited to submit full papers showing original research contributions. The page limit is 8 pages (1-column), plus 2 extra pages. Focused Topic: BIOMEDICAL IMAGING Starting with ICIAR 2012, one of the days of the conference will be focused in a special topic. In 2012 the focused topic will be "BIOMEDICAL IMAGING". The sessions will comprise invited keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations and a panel discussion. Authors are invited to submit full papers under this topic, addressing original research developments. The conference proceedings will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. The paper submission deadline is January 20, 2012.

Proposals for special invited sessions are welcome, however all papers will go through the normal review process. The invited session proposals deadline is December 19, 2011.

Located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, Aveiro is an industrial city with an important seaport. Aveiro is sometimes called "The Portuguese Venice", because of its canals and boats. The University of Aveiro was created in 1973 and is considered one of the most dynamic and innovative universities of Portugal.

TOPICS
The conference aims to provide a forum for presentations and discussions of the recent methodological advances in Image Processing, Analysis and Recognition. Special sessions will be also organized for addressing promising applications in various fields. The topics of the conference include, but are not limited to: BIOMEDICAL IMAGING: Focused Topic Processing and Analysis Coding Indexing and Retrieval Pattern Analysis and Recognition Applications
