8th-9th …and beyond

College Day – January 22, 2009

Students in GT 8-9 have the option of attending College Day on January 22, 2009.
Students participating in this event will attend classes at Carroll College and tour the UM Helena campus.
Students will also receive information regarding educational options available to high school students on both
campuses.

Please note: Due to the Carroll College class schedule, this event runs longer than the regular school day.

Students must choose ONE of the following participation options and return the permission form by
Tuesday, January 13:

Option 1 -- Compact Schedule – Begins at 12:30 on UM Helena Campus

Parents provide transportation to the UM Helena Campus
12:40 - UM Helena Campus tour and presentation (students eat sack lunch)
1:25 - Transportation provided by District from UM Helena to Carroll College
1:45 - Carroll College presentation on options available to high school students
2:15 - Students attend Carroll class of choice
3:40 - Depart Carroll back to HMS (for HMS and HHS students)
and CRA (for CRA and CHS students) Parents meet the bus at respective locations.

Option 2 -- Full Schedule – Begins at 10:45 on the Carroll College Campus

10:25 - Transportation provided by District from HMS (for HMS and HHS students)
and CRA (for CRA and CHS students)
11:00 - Students attend Carroll class of choice
12:30 - Transportation provided by District from Carroll College to UM Helena
12:40 - UM Helena Campus tour and presentation (students eat sack lunch)
1:25 - Transportation provided by District from UM Helena to Carroll College
1:45 - Carroll College presentation on options available to high school students
2:15 - Students attend Carroll class of choice
3:40 - Depart Carroll back to HMS (for HMS and HHS students)

Option 3 -- Extended Schedule – Begins at 10:45 on the Carroll College Campus

10:25 - Transportation provided by District from HMS (for HMS and HHS students)
and CRA (for CRA and CHS students)
11:00 - Students attend Carroll class of choice
12:30 - Transportation provided by District from Carroll College to UM Helena
12:40 - UM Helena Campus tour and presentation (students eat sack lunch)
1:25 - Transportation provided by District from UM Helena to Carroll College
1:45 - Carroll College presentation on options available to high school students
2:15 - Students attend Carroll class of choice
3:30 - Students attend Carroll class of choice
5:00 - Parents responsible for pick up from Carroll College

Students will be excused from school according to the option chosen. Students will be responsible for checking
with their teachers regarding assignments. Students need to dress warmly and bring a sack lunch.

Permission Form

Students must have parental permission to attend College Day on January 22, 2009.

This form must be returned to Julie Mitchell by Tuesday, January 13 (College Café event) in order to participate
in the event.

Option 1 -- I give permission for my child _________________________________ to attend
