After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a Zimbabwean bus driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed to be transporting from Harare to Bulawayo had escaped. He then delivered the passengers to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the patients were very excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies. The deception wasnt discovered for 3 days. received the injuries, the lad told police that he was simply trying to see how close he could get his head to a train moving the opposite way before he was hit. A man walked into a Louisiana CircleK, put a $20 bill on the counter, and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and fled, leaving the $20 bill on the counter. The total amount of cash he got from the drawer... $15. (If someone points a gun at you and gives you money, is a crime committed?) Seems an Arkansas guy wanted some beer pretty badly.. Amy Childs, Ed Miliband and Christine Bleakley might be among the UKs most well known faces, but most of us think they have got less personality than a houseplant. A bizarre study recently examined how interesting members of the public found a host of celebs -- and then compared this to the stimulation provided by a flower. Research subjects were played footage of public figures in conversation and instructed to leave the room when they felt boredom or irritation kicking in. Without fail, it was Amy Childs airhead Tv observations and Ed Milibands wooden Westminster interviews that induced the fastest rates of tedium -- 19 and 28 seconds respectively. However, when shown a Stephanosis and the aura of an Orchid, people found themselves mentally stimulated for a average of four minutes and 48 seconds. Top five least stimulating celebrities: 1. Amy Childs (19 seconds) 2. Ed Miliband (28 seconds) 3. Christine Bleakley (59 seconds) 4. Gavin Henson (1 minute 12 seconds) 5. Natalie Cassidy (1 minute 36 seconds) A spokesperson for The Flower Council of Holland said:: We have long since known the health benefits of houseplants but this proves that they can have a psychological benefit too. Plants offer a lot more than just decoration and, unlike certain celebrities, it seems, mental stimulation.

Little Lily Robinson had initially written to Sainsburys after being confused by the product in her mothers shopping basket and offering a new name for it.

Pub landlord suspended for serving too full

A pub landlord and landlady have been suspended from their roles and told they could face the sack for serving big pints of beer. Brewery bosses are said to have complained that Pete and Debbie Gibson did not serve a big enough head on their pints of beer and lager -- meaning there was more to drink. As such the firm, Samuel Smith, reportedly claim the pair owe them 10,733 in lost stock and ordered to close their Junction Inn pub at Royton, Greater Manchester. The dispute is based around the idea that customers cannot expect more than 95% of their pint glass to be filled with liquid. What do you think? Should your pint be filled to the top, or are you happy with a 5% foamy head. And after customer service man Chris King (aged 27 1/3) replied saying renaming tiger bread giraffe bread is a brilliant idea the exchange went viral online. Now, after a Facebook campaign the supermarket has announced it is officially renaming the loaf. Well done Lily! A spokesperson for Sainsburys said: In response to overwhelming customer feedback that our Tiger Bread has more resemblance to a giraffe, from today we will be changing our Tiger Bread to Giraffe Bread and seeing how that goes. CNN apologies after losing London in Norfolk

US TV news station CNN has issued a redface apology after accidentally locating London in Norfolk on a news illustration graphic. The geography gaffe appeared during a report covering a story about the phone hacking scandal and a map tried to show Cornwall and London. However, the arrow identifying London was actually pointing miles away, pinpointing it in Norfolk. Unsurprisingly the blunder was spotted and soon tweeted where it went viral -prompting the apology. Writing on Twitter CNN said: CNN apologises for a map error which shifted London from its correct location! We have corrected this & are looking into how this occurred.

Moby Dick printed on four and a half toilet rolls

A US man has tried to sell a unique edition of the classic novel Moby Dick -- one he spent hours typing onto a four-and-a-half toilet rolls. Going by the eBay username The_Heppcat the man says he typed the 822 page Herman Melville novel onto loo roll as part of a weird wager. Writing on the auction site he said: My friend and I once joked that toilet paper should have instructions printed on them for certain people. One day, the conversation grew from there

and turned into a wager that i couldnt (or wouldnt) be able to type out a novel on toilet paper. Yes, we did have some time on our hands but, as you can see from the photos, I won the bet. The bizarre copy of Moby Dick was created about 15 years ago and kept in a box in a cool, dry place for the last 10 years, The_Heppcat added: I have only broken it out to prove to doubters that I actually did it.

10. When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked on a Seattle street by sucking on a hose, he got much more than he bargained for.. Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline, but he plugged his siphon hose into the motor homes sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges saying that it was the best laugh hed ever had. 11. Last week in De Burse featured our first Beer Church for 2012, and what a success it was! Free flow Erdinger for 3 hours saw our friends at the bar getting very happy indeed. Look out for our next Beer Church, held the last Thursday of the month. Our next Virtual Live Concert will take place this Thursday, February 9 featuring Queen & Paul Rodgers. Hello avid reader!
What am I going to write about this time? I had some ideas but cant think of what they were at the moment. I felt the need for this newsletter to be one of those ones that rambled on about something barely interesting. Facts about meaningless things or some sort of nostalgia. Ive been wanting to lose some weight and found this application for my Android phone that helps count calories. I told it I wanted to lose a pound a week and Ive been using it for a week now and Ive lost a pound. So it must be working. Keeps me from getting too sh*t faced too. Only problem is I get my daily calories all over again at midnight. It should start the day over again at like 5am. Cool program though for those of you who are trying to count your calories and shed those Christmas pounds. You just do a search for the food youre eating or scan the upc and it tells you how many calories it is and keeps a running track for you. Of course everybody laughs at you whenever you try to do something good for yourself but I dont care. The name of the app is myfitnesspal and it works for iphone as well. I think Im going to go make myself a protein shake with oatmeal, yogurt and some strawberries. Another cool thing about that app is if you do cardio it gives you extra calories but nothing extra for strength training. Guess Ill be taking a bicycle ride to De Hooi shortly, if it ever stops raining to gain some calories for drinking tonight. Its been raining pretty consistently all day today. Love the rain. Craving some De Hooi hot chicken wings. There will be a few new items on our special menu. I added breakfast burritos and tamales. Yum, you should try it out. Historically, it was most influential in the 1840s and 50s, when it helped to coin the term cartoon in its modern sense as a humorous illustration. It became a British institution, but after the 1940s, when its circulation peaked, it went into a long decline, finally closing in 1992. We have a large collection of these early cartoons, ageing back to the 1890s with subject matter covering golf, cricket, current events (at the time), advertisements, and so much more.
