Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone bump into each other in hospital
SOURCE: NEWSLiTE.Tv

When Arnold Schwarzenegger went into hospital to have a operation on his shoulder, he couldnt believe who was in the next bed Sylvester Stallone. In an amazing coincidence* the two action stars had been booked in to have treatment on their shoulders at the same medical centre, on the same day. Writing online Arnie said: After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder. Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now were ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. *Obviously were not suggesting this is a publicity stunt for The Tomb

Man builds life-sized tank out of 5,016 egg boxes

Alton Towers optical illusion lift terrifies shoppers

SOURCE: NEWSLiTE.Tv

Visitors to a shopping centre in London got a fright yesterday, when the doors to a lift opened and they were confronted with a collapsed floor and gaping lift shaft. Luckily however, the shocked shoppers were never really in danger -- an artist had been hired to create the 3D illusion to promote the launch of a new ride at a theme park. Bosses from Alton Towers had set-up the stunt to test the nerves of the public and see how they responded and to plug their Nemesis Sub-Terra ride which opens on March 24. An artist has spent 512 hours creating a life-sized tank out of 5,016 egg boxes, but its no yoke, he did it for charity Stuart Murdoch constructed the Challenger ii to celebrate the launch of Eggs for Soldiers national egg and spoon race on March 4 and raise money for Help for Heroes He says he used 26 litres of glue, 10,100 nails, 15 litres of paint, 80 square metres of steel and 5,013 staples to make the model. 15p from the sale of every khaki green box of six Eggs For Soldiers goes directly to the charity, which is eggcellant news, dont you think. One shopper said: A deep, dark lift shaft is not what you expect to see on your average trip to the shops! it gave me a bit of a fright, but i quickly realised the joke was on me! i then had a laugh watching other peoples reactions a they walked past. Katherine Duckworth, head of consumer marketing at Alton Towers Resort, said, Nemesis Sub-Terra is by far the most terrifying of our attractions to date and we really wanted to test the limits of the British public to see if they could cope with what it has in store. When creating the illusion inside the lift we considered some our most common fears including heights, darkness and claustrophobia that are also a core part of the new attraction. The reactions of the public were fascinating and we cant wait to see what happens when people come and experience the new attraction for the first time.

Amazing camera tech removes unwanted people from your photos

SOURCE: NEWSLiTE.Tv

There isnt a photographer out there who hasnt found themselves pressing the shutter button just as an unwanted character steps into frame and ruins a good photo. And while until now weve been left seething behind a smile and and saying it doesnt matter, it appears there could soon be another way... Swedish imaging firm Scalado have just revealed their remove technology which can be used to delete unwanted objects and people who entered the frame. The tech -- which is set to be shown off at Mobile World Congress -- takes a series of photos as people move around and then allows you to delete them with the composite photo filling in the missing background. A spokesperson for Scalado said: When capturing photos in a busy area, like a public square or a concert for example, it is often difficult to get a clean shot without unwanted objects entering the frame. Now you can capture the shot anyway, and simply let the camera remove the people for you!

Dad played porn rather than Smurfs movie at childs birthday

SOURCE: NEWSLiTE.Tv

A US man was left red-faced when he accidentally played a porn film rather than the Smurfs movie at his childs birthday party. The unnamed man had apparently rented The Smurfs DvD for the occasion before loading it into his laptop which was hooked up to a projector. But when he tried to play the blue movie, children and parents instead saw a series of pornographic images flash up on the big screen. Presumably trying to suggest his innocence, the man then contacted police himself and reported that someone had tampered with The Smurfs DvD. However, officers said they could not find anything wrong with the Smurfs movie (which must be the first time anyone has said that) and that the porn was probably on the laptop. Police are not thought to be seeking criminal charges because the incident was apparently an accident. 3 BuGils Bi-Weekly - Issue #52 - February 22, 2012

Man ordered most expensive Starbucks drink possible didnt like $23.60 Frankenbrew
SOURCE: NEWSLiTE.Tv

SOURCE: NEWSLiTE.Tv

Fussy kids cost mums extra 260 hours in kitchen

Some people complain about the cost of drinks in coffee shops, but not Logan Warren -- he recently ordered the most expensive Starbucks drink possible. Armed with a Starbucks Rewards card entitling him to a free birthday drink, the computer technician from Nacogdoches, Texas, decided to see what was the most pricey drink one of the barista could prepare for him. Looking around online, the most expensive he could find was $14 (8.80) and Logan knew he could do better, especially as there was no fine print or price limit on the offer. So after consulting with the baristas for half an hour, the result was a $23.60 (14.95) Java Chip Frappuccino in a Trenta cup with 16 shots of espresso and syrups, shots and powders. Speaking of the drink, 22-year-old Logan told NewsLite: We started with the most expensive base drink--a java chip frappuccino, and added 16 shots of espresso, along with a myriad of powders and fruits. it was all about jacking up the price without taking up space in the cup. Top it off with a few shots of syrup, and you have a record. in addition to the base drink and coffee, the bizarre concoction contained a shot of soy milk, caramel flavouring, banana puree, strawberry puree, vanilla beans, Matcha powder, protein powder, and a drizzle of caramel and mocha. As for the taste, Logan said it was Tolerable, but not good. imagine a coffee-based health food smoothie that will put you in the hospital if you drink it all. Thats how it tasteslike Jillian Michaels with a touch of Chuck Norris. Despite it not being overly impressed by the Frankenbrew, he persevered and drank the entire 1400mg caffeine thing, but not wanting to end up in hospital he spread it out over three days. Asked whether hed recommend other people ordering the drink he said: i definitely dont suggest it if you care about flavour. if you have a coupon or a load of cash, and you want to get enough caffeine to make an elephant dance, i highly recommend it!

Mums spend 260 unnecessary hours slaving over a hot stove because of fussy kids, new national research has revealed. The typical British mother wastes is said to notch up the extra hours every year by cooking up to three different meals every night. Over half the nations under-pressure mums claim their time is wasted cooking different meals and different times for their fussy families. Daughters have been pinpointed as the biggest fussy culprits, with 35% of the UK claiming they are the pickiest of eaters and most likely to demand different food for dinner than their brothers and parents. Some households are now cooking up to three different dishes every evening in a bid to please everyones taste buds. As well as fussy eaters, partners working late scores highly in the reasons why so many hours are being wasted. Nuala Gallagher, from Sizzling Pubs, which commissioned the study, commented: its not hard to see why so many hours are wasted cooking as we are such a busy nation, working as hard as possible through the current economic climate and staying chained to the office much later. its then not helped when children have their own tastes and wont even try whats made for them. Mums are really like chefs these days, cooking a range of meals to suit every appetite.

Geek makes binary marriage proposal she still says yes

SOURCE: NEWSLiTE.Tv

After uploading the video, he pasted it on her Facebook wall and after translating the code for her, 32-year-old Rachel promptly accepted his odd proposal. The video - which features Robert in a Bender from Futurama mask - has racked up over 85,000 hits on video sharing site YouTube and has circulated across blogs world wide. i know binary to a degree. i can count in binary and do binary maths but i used a text to binary translator for the message, said programmer Robert. i tried to memorise the entire binary string, but it was way too difficult so i had the message on screen and read it from there.

Were both nerds in various ways. i just did it because i knew Rachel would think it was awesome and my friends would think it was funny, so i was pretty surprised when it was the number one video on YouTube Trends for a while. Robert was inspired by the cartoon series Futurama, made by The Simpsons creator Matt Groening. Rachel loves robots and Futuramas one of my favourite Tv shows, added 35-year-old Robert. i always wanted to propose in some nerdy way, and was thinking about binary which immediately reminded me of the binary scenes in [Futurama film] Benders Big Score.

Been on a European tour with Bart. Came for the 11-cities skate tour here in Friesland, Holland but the officials said the ice wasnt thick enough. We still did some skating which was next to impossible because we were using borrowed skates without ankle support. i thought that i had forgotten how to skate until i realize theres such a big difference in a low rider ice skate. So when we found out the 11 cities tour was off we decided to go to Amsterdam and do some bar hopping so i could find out what real Dutch bars were about. Got a little culture and went to the van Gogh Museum. Neither of us were very impressed but luckily there was a Bols museum right across the street which we found much more entertaining. Plus you get around 3 drinks at the end of the tour and we tried our hand at flaring. Got bored in Amsterdam and decided to go to Paris. First night we went out for drinks around the Moulin Rouge as thats were our hotel was and werent very impressed. Seemed kinda seedy and way overpriced. Next day we took a bus tour and Paris is really a very interesting city. First stop we made was at The Louvre Museum. That was totally awesome. There is just totally too much to see in that place. We walked around for about an hour, saw the Mona Lisa and got back on the bus to the Eiffel Tower. Bart decided he didnt want to go up because he isnt that cool with heights. i climbed the first 2 levels using the stairs, had a beer and then bought a ticket to the top. Never use to be too scared of heights but going up that narrow skeletal spire in a glass elevator was fricken scary. i almost had a heart attack going up. Once up there it was fine because there was plenty of floor space and enclosed railings and such but when i got in the elevator to come back down i kept my eyes closed and my face buried in my sleeve. Bart sent me an SMS while i was climbing the tower. He was hanging around some seedy characters and the police threw him against the wall and asked him if he had been gambling. He had to show him his passport and all his maps of Paris to prove to the police he was only a tourist and not up to anything. After that Bart seemed a little paranoid that the cops might be following him. Now were back in Freisland and not sure what were going to do for the next few days till we head back to Jakarta. Not too much looking forward to the 13 hour flight to Singapore but it will be nice to be back home again. Thanks for making De Hooi Southern Jakartas favorite beer joint. Wish you were here,

Eris, one of our newer floor staff is low-key, cheerful and carefree - our Ops Manager Meggy Mumu thinks you might like her distinctive tomboyish style and attitude and tries to investigate the girly soul in her. So, you are a tomboy. Are you the rock-star or emo kind of of tomboy? I am on the rock-star, well, heavy metal side. Do you have any unfulfilled obsession? I actually want to be a singer - particularly a rock vocalist. I was a lead singer of a rock band in high school. Suara gue bagus loh.. (I sing pretty well, you know) Who is your favorite band/musician? Evanescence Have you ever worn girly fashion items, say, a pair of high heels? Actually, yes. I used to wear high heels on a daily basis when I worked as a receptionist, and no, I didnt particularly enjoy doing that. Our regular scribe sends his apologies citing injury as an excuse for the brevity of this update. We are struggling to understand how a twisted ankle can have any bearing on ability to write or type but given his erratic form both on and off the pitch we are not overly surprised. You will note our form continues to hold us in the top half of the table (fourth or fifth....Ed. you did that joke last time, move on). BuGils has now gone some 8 or 9 games undefeated, including a draw against the Wanderers, which should have been a victory ( even Dale said he was happy to take the point). it was in that game that our regular reporter sustained his nasty injury and had to be carried off. it should be noted that no one was at fault....in fact there was no one close to him when he went down like a sack of spuds. Truth be told the ball wasnt even close either and since were in full disclosure mode he hadnt even touched the ball since coming on - felled by a hole in the ground! in was in that game too that Rodrigo, the best overweight futsal player in the BuGils squad, having practiced the shot several times before kick off, ended a fantastic passage of play by volleying a perfect cross from Marc Scheres. Darshan also did a good impression of a springboard in the final minute to launch the Wanderers striker skyward for the equaliser. illegal use of another player we would have thought but the ref thought otherwise and we dont want to get into trouble for criticising referees, or providing a demo of what happened by jumping on the ref himself, eh Skip? A lacklustre display against the vikings saw us earn another draw (still waiting for that late surge boys) before a convincing victory against the Germans, inspired by our scribe taking in the role of agent and introducing his 21 year old nephew to the fray....what else could he have brought to the game if he had not been yellowcarded and sin-binned for a hefty challenge on the most vociferous of our Germanic friends?
