1.Introduction
ProductOverview
The standalone VoIP Gateway carries both voice and facsimile over the IP network. It supports SIP industry standard call control protocol to be compatible with free registration servicesorVoIPserviceproviderssystems.Itworksintwodifferentmodes:UA(UserAgent) orServer.Asastandarduseragent,itiscompatibletoallwellknownSoftSwitchesandSIP proxyservers.Whilerunningtheoptionalserversoftware,thegatewaycanbeconfiguredto rd establishaprivateVoIPnetworkovertheInternetwithouta3 partySIPProxyServer. Thereare3typesofgatewaysinthesameseries:2ports,4portsand8ports(voiceports, FXS and/or FXO). The gateway can be seamlessly integrated to existing network by connectingtoaphoneset,PBX,keytelephonesystem,faxmachineorPSTNline.Withonlya broadband connection such as ADSL bridge/router, Cable Modem or leased line router, it allowsyoutogainaccesstovoiceandfaxservicesovertheIPinordertoreducethecostof internationalandlongdistancecalls. In addition, the inbuilt 4 ports Ethernet switch supports comprehensive Internet gateway functionstoaccommodateotherPCsorIPdevicestosharethesamebroadbandstream.QoS functionallowsvoiceanddatatraffictoflowthroughwherevoicetrafficistransmittedinthe highestpriority.WithTOSbitenabled,itguaranteesvoicepacketstohavefirstprioritytopass throughaTOSenabledrouter. WiththesupportofDDNS,itmakesthegatewayreachablebyitsdomainnamewheretheISP dynamicallyassignstheIPaddress.IthelpsuserstohostawebsiteormailserverinaPPPoE orDHCPnetwork.ByenablingtheCDRfunction&settingupasimpleserver,administrators areallowedtologinandviewallcallrecordssuchascallduration,timeanddateofcallsand latency. ThegatewaycanbeassignedwithafixedIPaddressorbyDHCP, PPPoE.ItadoptstheG.711, G.726, G.729A or G.723.1 voice compression format to save the network bandwidth while providingrealtimeandtollqualityvoice.Inaddition,intheeventthatthepowersupplyfailsor Internet connection is lost, the gateway can automatically divert the FXS end to the PSTN networkontheFXOportsouserscanstillusetheconventionalPSTNlinetomakecalls.This featureisespeciallyusefulwhiledialingemergencycalls(i.e.911).

Torestorefactorydefaultsettings(IPaddress,UsersName,Password): (1) Disconnectthepowerplug. (2) Pressandholdtheresetbutton. (3) Reconnectthepowerplugwhilepressingdownontheresetbutton. (4) Releasetheresetbuttonafter6seconds.Factorysettingswillberestored.

3.SettingtheGatewaythroughIVR
VoIPtransmitsvoicedata(packets)viatheInternet.Oneeffectofthisisthattelecommunications qualityiscloselyrelatedtothecondition andstatusofthenetworkenvironment.Ifanyoftheparties involvedinVoIPcommunicationshasinsufficientbandwidthorfrequentpacketloss,the telecommunicationqualitywillbepoor.Therefore,excellenttelecommunicationcanonlyhappen whenthegatewayisconnectedtotheInternetandwhenthenetworkenvironmentisstable.
Preparation
Installthegatewayaccordingtoinstructions.Connectthepowersupply,telephoneset, telephonecable,andnetworkcableproperlyasdescribedinInstallationand Applications. IfastaticIPisused,confirmthecorrectIPsettingsoftheWANPort(IPaddress,subnet mask,anddefaultgateway).PleasecontactyourlocalInternetServiceProvider(ISP)if youhaveanyquestions. IfusingdialupADSL(PPPoE)fornetworkconnection,confirmthedialupaccountnumber andpassword. IfyouintendtooperatethegatewayunderaNAT,thegatewayWANportIPaddressand LANportshouldnotusethesamerangeinordertoavoidphonefailures.
Thegatewayprovidestwosettingmodes: 1. TelephoneIVRConfigurationMode 2. BrowserConfigurationMode TheIVRprovidesbasicqueryandsettingfunctions,whilethebrowserprovidesafullsetting function.
IVR(InteractiveVoiceResponse)
ThegatewayprovidesconvenientIVRfunctions.Usersonlyneedtopickupahandsetandenter thefunctioncodeforthequeryandsettingwithoutusingaPC.
NOTE: Afterfinishingthesetup,makesurethenewsettingsaresaved.Thiswillenablethenew settingstotakeeffectafterthegatewayisrestarted.

Aftercompletingallofyoursettings, dial 509(SaveSettings).Waitforabout3seconds,youshould hearaconfirmationtone1.Youcannowhangupthephone.Pleaserebootthegatewayto enablenewsettings.
ToinquireaboutthecurrentgatewaysWANPortIPaddress
Aftercompletingallofyoursettings,dial101.The gatewaywillrepeatthecurrentWANPortIP address.IfthegatewaydoesnotrepeattheIPaddress,thisindicatesthatthegatewayisnot currentlyconnectedtotheInternet.Pleasechecktobecertainthatthecableconnection,account number,andpasswordareallcorrect.
SoftwareUpgrade
IVRprovidesonlineupgrades.OnceinIVRmode,enter209andyouwillhearEnterValue. EnteryourIPaddressfollowedby#(i.e.:61*30*25*89#).YouwillhearasecondEnterValue. EntertheListenPortNumberfollowedby#(i.e.:69#).
