Hi Holiday Crafters,
Of all the ways you can decorate for a holiday, I think my absolute favorite would have to be wreaths. Theyre just so simple and classic, plus theyre a perfect blank canvas for creating whatever design your heart desires. You can go with the typical circle shape or create something totally unusual, like a heartshaped wreath for Valentines Day! You can go big or small, bold or subtle, simple or complex its totally up to you! Plus there are so many different materials you can use to decorate your wreaths the options are literally endless! Paper, yarn, fabric even plastic bottles and feather boas can be used in your wreath designs. Youll find all of these ideas and more in this collection of wreath tutorials. Since wreaths are a great decoration for any time of year, I decided to round up some wreath ideas for every season and all of the major holidays as well. Inside this eBook there are wreaths for spring, summer, winter and fall, as well as designs for Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentines Day, Independence Day and St. Patricks Day. Spring Wreaths
Mix and Match Bouquet Wreath
By: Sachiko for Tea Rose Home Using odds and ends from the craft store, you can whip up your own version of this pretty and cheerful floral wreath. With a bouquet of blooms as beautiful as these gracing your front door, youll always be happy to come home!
1) With 1 yard of fabric, make bias tape. Find an easy tutorial for making bias tape here. Cut three 7" wide bias fabrics.
2) Connect two bias fabrics together to make a big loop. Cut the third bias fabric in half to make 3 1/2" strips.
Materials: 10" wreath foam 1 yard of 100% cotton fabric Cotton lace Flowers (you can use homemade flowers, or store-bought silk/fabric ones) A bunch of sewing pins (1 long work best) Pearl beads (optional) Ribbon (for hanging the wreath)
3) Wrap the bias strip from step 2 around the foam wreath. When you come to the end, simply use the sewing pin to stabilize the fabric. Make sure to stab all the way in!
Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 4) On the one side of the big loop, sew on the lace all the way around. For the other side, stretch and move the fabric around roughly, so that it will fray a little bit and give it some character. 7) Now its time to decorate the wreath with flowers! Use sewing pins to secure the flowers to the wreath. If using store-bought flowers, be sure to remove the plastic center parts before pinning.
5) Fold the fabric 3" to the middle part all the way around.
8) Place all flowers on wreath in desired arrangement. Feel free to play around until it looks good!
6) Place the folded fabric on top of the wrapped wreath and start making pleats. Secure it with sewing pins. Keep going all the way around.
9) Accessorize by pinning individual pearl beads to your wreath.
11) Enjoy your finished wreath!
10) Cut about 3" of ribbon to make a loop to hang your wreath from. Seal the edge with your favorite method and pin it onto the back of the wreath. If you want to make it extra secure, you can use a glue gun and then pin.
Double Sunflower Yarn Wreath

By: Kimberly for Bugaboo, Mini Mr. and Me As the dull colors of winter begin to fade away, that means its time to break out the bright and happy colors of spring! What better way to welcome the warmer weather than with this happy and bright yellow sunflower wreath? Use your favorite sunshine-hued yarn to create this cheery door decoration!
Instructions: 1) Wrap yellow yarn all around one of the foam circles.
2) Keep going until the entire circle is completely covered.
Materials: Yellow yarn (one shade or two) Brown yarn Green yarn Some scrap felt Floral foam - two half circles 2 Circular foam discs Wooden skewer Scissors Hot glue gun 3) Cut the yarn apart at the intersection, then trim the strands down just a bit so the middle will be free of all the criss-crossed yarn. The point is to eliminate any bulkiness in the center of the circle.

Put some hot glue in the center of the foam and fold your strands up and over the circle, smooshing them into the hot glue. 7) Repeat that process all around the circle, randomly spaced. 8) You will want to trim down your half circle a little bit, because the diameter is almost as large as the diameter of the flat circle.
9) Cut a bunch of small strands of brown yarn.
5) If youd like to give your wreath some dimension, take your darker yellow yarn and wrap it around to measure and cut lots of strands of the right length. Basically you will be repeating the same process that you just did with the lighter yellow yarn. 6) Now, taking just a few strands at a time, glue them down to the middle area, wrap around the other side of the circle, and hot glue the other ends to the middle on the opposite side.
10) Put a strand around the bottom of a wooden skewer.
Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 11) Poke the skewer into the green foam circle. Remove the skewer, leaving the yarn tucked into the foam. 14) Smoosh the strands of yarn so theyre close together.
15) Your yarn-covered circle will look like this when youre finished: 12) Repeat.
13) Repeat some more.
16) Spread hot glue all over the back of the foam circle.

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 17) Press it down in the middle of the flat yellow circle. 21) Hot glue the other end of the green strands to the top of second sunflower. Hot glue felt over it to secure.
18) Trim any wild, straggly yarn bits.
22) You can also hot glue some loops of green yarn to the sunflowers for leaves.
19) Repeat the entire process again with the other flat circle and half circle foam pieces. When youre done, you will have two sunflowers. 20) Flip one of the sunflowers over. Take your green yarn and cut a strand. Glue it to the top in a loop and glue a small square of felt over it, to keep it secure. Then, cut a few strands of green and hot glue it to the bottom, opposite the loop. Hot glue some felt over it to secure it. 23) Hang on your door for a little taste of spring!

Summer Wreaths
Whimsical Summer Flower Wreath
By: Jen for Tatertots and Jello Nothing says summer quite like bright yellow blooming flowers and this whimsical wreath perfectly displays the joy of the season! Use recycled plastic bottles to create this eco-friendly decoration for your front door!
Instructions: 1) To make the flowers, take the plastic bottle and poke a hole in it with scissors. Some thicker bottles may require use of a drill.
2) Cut around the circumference of the bottle until the bottom comes off. 3) Cut petals in the bottle, with the opening of the bottle being the middle of the flower. 4) Paint most of the flowers yellow and a couple of them white so that they contrast with the yellow flowers. Youll need about three coats of paint. You can alternate the shades a little to give the color a little more depth. 5) Tip for layering your flowers: Use the bottle with the biggest opening to form the back of the flower. You can make the petals on this bottle the longest. Then create a middle layer using a bottle with an opening that will fit inside the biggest bottle. Create the front flower out of a small bottle with an opening that will fit inside the other two bottles.
Materials: Wire wreath form Craft wire Batting 2 sheets of coordinating fabric Several more sheets of fabric for additional smaller flowers Ribbon Recycled plastic bottles (variety of sizes: 2L, 12 oz, etc.). You will need bottles with different sized openings in order to layer your flowers on top of one another Scissors Drill (optional) Piece of patterned card stock Several large buttons Scrap of coordinating fabric Scrapbooking brads Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 5) To create the decorative layer between the first and second flower, cut a flower (slightly larger than your smallest plastic flower) out of patterned card stock. Cut a circle in the middle so that it will nestle inside of the first and second flower. 8) Wire your flowers to the wire wreath form.
9) Cut the batting into strips. Wrap strips around wire wreath form for padding. 10) Cut a 3 inch panel out of one of your pieces of fabric. Wrap fabric panel around wreath form. 11) Cut another 3 inch panel out of your coordinating fabric and wrap that over the first layer of fabric. Leave room so that the underlying material shows through.
6) To fill up the mouth of the bottle, take a large button and wrap it in coordinating material.
7) Hot glue another button on top of that and add a scrapbooking brad onto the mouth of the bottle to make the center of the flower. 12) To make the smaller flowers, cut out a 5 inch circle of material, followed by a 4 inch and 3 inch circle of contrasting material. 13) Put a brad through the circles, attaching them together. 14) Put a circle of hot glue on the back of the fabric circle and press it into the middle of one of your small plastic flowers. 15) Wrap a strip of material around the base of the flower and hot glue that on top of the

16) Attach some strips of material and ribbon together with hot glue to hang your wreath.

Fall Wreaths
Fall Fabric Scrap Wreath
By: Amy for Nap Time Crafters Using your extra fabric scraps and a few basic supplies, you can create a fun and festive wreath thats perfect for the fall season! Just follow this super simple tutorial to create your own thrifty autumn decoration.
Instructions: 1) Cut your base fabric into 60 1x10" strips. Depending on the look you're going for and the bulk of your fabric, you may want the strips longer, shorter, skinnier, etc. Play around with it a bit before you cut all your fabric. 2) Tie the strips onto the wreath form with double knots, staggering the knots a bit.
3) Work your way around the whole wreath.
Materials: Wreath form (12" diameter is good) Neutral fabric for the base layer (about 1/2 yard) Fall toned fabric scraps Craft glue (Elmers works fine!)
4) Cut your fall fabric into 2-3" circles. 5) Wrap the fabric around the end of a screwdriver and add a dab of glue.

7) Fan out each little fabric tuft.
8) Add as many as you want going all the way around.

Winter Wreaths
Elegant Paper Winter Wreath

Find out how to create a chic handmade wreath using book pages and glass ornaments by following this tutorial. This elegant decoration is the perfect way to add a festive holiday feel to your living room!
Instructions: 1) Cut 12 pieces of 6 long wire. 2) Glue 4 of the wires into star. Use the r6000 glue. Let dry. 3) Roll 33 pages of book pages into tubes. Staple 2 times to keep in place. 4) Roll 16 book pages at a diagonal to create a point on one end. Staple sides to secure roll.
5) Hot glue 4 rolled book pages about 3 - 4 from sides as shown.
Materials: Stampin Up snowflake punch Old 5 x 7 book (you need 50 pages) Hot glue 9 glass ornaments 24 silver cord 8 1/2 x 11 blue baja breeze cardstock 11 circle made out of cardboard (draw 7 inner circle) Silver glitter Ice crystal stickles Bendable wire 3 different colors of glass beads E6000 glue Stapler 3 white buttons Wire cutter Round nose plier
6) Hot glue 4 more rolled pages in the middle of each space on wreath. Fill up the rest of the empty spaces to form the first layer.
7) Add another layer of rolled pages. Glue pages in between other glued pages to cover empty spaces.

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 8) Create another layer and hot glue pointed pages as shown in step 5. 17) Hot glue one white button to three snowflakes. Save 12 snowflakes for step 19. 18) Glue embellishment to middle of your beaded snowflake. 19) Add glitter to snowflake with stickles glitter. Let dry.
9) Hot glue one pointed roll in the middle of each section, and continue until layer is complete. 10) Take glass ornaments and add reinker color to inside of ornament. Use about teaspoon. 11) Cover ornament with tissue and shake. 12) Add tsp. glitter to inside of ornament. Cover top and shake. Continue the same process to the rest of your glass ornaments, if desired. 13) Take wire star that you glued earlier, and thread beads in alternating colors. 14) To finish wires, bend wire to an l at the end of the wire. 15) Using round nose pliers, grab tip of wire and bend to a teardrop shaped loop. This will stop the beads from falling off. 23) Tie a knot in your silver cord. Hot glue cord to top, center of the back of your wreath. 24) Youre done! NOTE: You can watch the video tutorial for this wreath on the AllFreeHolidayCrafts website! 16) Using snowflake punch, punch out 15 snowflakes with your blue cardstock. 20) Hot glue glass ornaments into center of your wreath. 21) Glue your 3 glass bead snowflakes to your wreath. 22) Take your 12 paper snowflakes and glue in various places on your wreath.

Halloween Wreaths
Sugar Rush Halloween Wreath
By: Jen for Craft-O-Maniac This sweet decoration is one of the simplest wreaths you can make, but its also one of the most creative! Show off your favorite candy goodies for all the visiting trick or treaters to see; their little mouths will be watering before they even knock on your door!
Instructions: 1) Tuck your ribbon under and around the Styrofoam wreath and add a little hot glue.
2) Using scissors or a knife, carefully trim the sticks of the lollipops so they will easily fit into the wreath form without sticking out too much. 3) Begin sticking your lollipop suckers into the wreath form, scattering them throughout.
Materials: 1 large bag of assorted Halloween candy 1 small bag of Tootsie Rolls Wide decorative ribbon Scissors and/or knife Styrofoam wreath form Hot glue gun and glue sticks Extra ribbon for decoration (optional)
4) Add Smarties and Tootsie Rolls, adhering them to the wreath form with hot glue. Its best to start with your larger candies and then use the smaller pieces to fill up any holes.

6) Add some extra curled ribbon at the top for decoration, if desired.

Easter Wreaths
Dip and Dye Coffee Filter Wreath
By: Angie for The Country Chic Cottage Coffee filter crafts are great because theyre so unusual, plus they make use out of ordinary household supplies that you already probably have lying around. This coffee filter wreath is one of our favorites because its pretty pastel palette is beautiful for spring and Easter!
Instructions: 1) Put some water into a bowl and add the desired food coloring. Dip the end of your coffee filter in like so...
2) The water will sort of wick up and color the entire filter. Set dyed filters on a baking sheet to dry.
Materials: Package of 100 coffee filters Bowl Baking sheet Package of food coloring White cotton material Wreath form Pencil with eraser Hot glue gun and glue sticks Wide ribbon (for hanging)
3) Dye desired number of filters with your first color. You do not have to have an even number of filters in each color.

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 4) Rinse out your bowl. Add clean water and new color of food coloring. Repeat the dipping process. 7) Repeat for any other color combinations that you would like to add to your wreath. To get this greenish-yellow color, simply combine green and yellow food coloring.
5) You can use the same baking sheet for all of your colors. Just put a sheet of paper between each one to prevent bleeding.
8) Cover your wreath form in strips of white cotton material (this will make it easy to re-use your wreath form for another project in the future). Take each coffee filter and put the eraser end of a pencil down in it.
6) If youd like to make a purple color, just combine red and blue food coloring. Repeat the dipping process. 9) Put on some hot glue and started attaching. One row like this...

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 10) Then the next row like this. You can randomly place your colored filters on the wreath. There is no rhyme or reason to it! 13) Put a loop of ribbon on the back for hanging and youre done!
11) Fill in the inside row.
12) Finish with the last row on top. Then any extra filters you have left over you can use to fill in any gaps.

Patriotic Wreaths
Patriotic Fabric Scrap Wreath
By: Becky for Patchwork Posse Find out how to create a festive wreath thats perfect for any patriotic holiday with this easy tutorial. Made with fabric scraps in red, white and blue, this fun wreath will have you ready to celebrate the Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day in style!
2) Put the pin into the center, from the front to the back.
3) Put the pin in the next corner, again front to the back.
Materials: Straw wreath (heart shape is best, but any shape will do) 6 inch fabric squares in red, white and blue Straight pins. 4) Repeat until you have put all the centers and all the corners on the pin. Fluff it a bit to give it some puff.
Instructions: 1) Start by sticking a straight pin in one corner of the fabric square.
5) Take that same pin and push it into the wreath. Repeat the process with each square.

The rest will be red and white alternated. 7) Once you have covered the entire wreath form in fabric squares, youre done!

Patriotic Bandana Wreath

1) Cut one handkerchief into four even squares. By: Kristin for Life in Wonderland Looking at this country chic wreath, you cant help but think of summer barbecues in your backyard! If youre looking to make a simple and unique decoration for the Fourth of July or Memorial Day, this project is for you! Follow this tutorial to create pennant flags out of bandanas and then use them to decorate a fun wreath.
2) Fold each square into a triangle like so:
Materials: Red, white and blue handkerchiefs or bandanas Wooden wreath ring (13 is a good size) Scissors Hot glue gun
3) Use hot glue, or another adhesive, to secure the flaps on the back of the triangle.

7) Youre done! 5) Continue layering the triangles until the entire wreath is covered.

Christmas Wreaths
Shabby Ruffle Christmas Wreath
By: Allison for Vintage Pollyanna Whats cool about this shabby chic Christmas wreath is looking at all the different layers and seeing how the various fabrics complement each other. This is such a thrifty and fun way to decorate for Christmas, plus its a great way to use up those extras in your fabric stash!
Instructions: 1) Begin by cutting 2" strips of fabric with your rotary cutter. Cut one strip from each of five fabrics.
2) Approximate between 2" and 2.5" horizontal cuts across the strips to make squares. You do not need to be exact in your measurements.
Materials: A few different coordinating fabrics (you do not need much of each; 5 different patterns works well) Foam wreath form Rotary cutter with a pinking blade (or pinking shears) Cutting mat and guide Pencil with sharpened tip Ribbon (for hanging and bow accent) Hot glue gun and glue
3) Lay your fabric squares around your wreath in an order that you like.

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 4) Take a square of fabric, lay it on the wreath, and push the sharp end of the pencil down into the wreath. 7) Work your way around the wreath form in this same fashion until the entire circle is covered in layers of fabric squares.
5) Remove the pencil and your fabric will stick in the wreath form, no glue required! 8) Tie a bow with ribbon and add it to the wreath with hot glue. Add a loop of ribbon at the top of the wreath for hanging.
6) Layer several fabric squares on top of one another using the same pencil method as in step 4. Continue adding layers until you are satisfied with the fullness.

Gorgeous Decorative Paper Wreath

By: Lisa for The Red Thread This stunning wreath looks so fancy, its hard to believe that its made entirely out of paper! Impress your holiday guests this Christmas with this gorgeous decoration. Theyll all be showering you with compliments and asking how you made it! No one has to know that the secret behind this amazing wreath is a simple stapler!
Instructions: 1) Start by finding your plates or bowls to trace around. The diameter of my large salad bowl is 34 cm, and the smaller one is 21 cm. If your circles are much larger or smaller you will have to adjust the size of your leaves accordingly. The diameter of my finished wreath is 42 cm, which is the perfect size to hang on a door. 2) Place the large bowl upside down on the cardboard and trace around it.
3) Place the small bowl upside down in the center of the circle you've just drawn and trace around it.
Materials:
1 to 2 sheets of wrapping paper (or magazine pages, scrapbook paper, white office paper, old comic books, or any other sort of paper) 1 large and 1 smaller plate, salad bowls or similar to trace around Lightweight cardboard (the size you'll need will depend on the size of your bowls) Scissors Stapler Sticky tape Ribbon (roughly 65 cm)
4) Cut around the outside of the largest circle. Then cut across your circle, through the center until you reach the far edge of the small circle.

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 5) Next cut across the line you just cut so you now have a + in the center of your circle. This makes it easier to cut the small circle out. Cut out the small circle so you end up with a donut shape. Join the open ends of the donut back together with sticky tape. 8) Staple the rolled leaf to the bottom, just off center, of the wreath base so the open end of the leaf is pointing out and down.
6) Draw a leaf shape about 12.5 cm long on a piece of paper, and cut it out to use as a template. I cut the point off one end of the leaf so I knew which end was the bottom. I used 64 leaves in total, of which 16 were white. The number of leaves you need may vary slightly depending on how much you overlap your leaves.
9) Continue rolling each leaf as you go, stapling them in position so they overlap the previous leaf. They need to overlap and be placed close to each other so the cardboard base and the staples aren't visible. The leaves should be positioned so that they follow the curve of the wreath base. The placing is fairly random, the leaves aren't in rows. If you are using an accent paper (like my white one) place one for every 46 of the main color leaves. Make the color placement random too.
7) Roll the bottom edges of the leaf together so they overlap and the sides curl up.

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 10) Looking at the back of the wreath you can see that the staples attach the leaves to the center of the cardboard ring, and the leaves fan outwards. 12) When you have reached half way stop and go back to your original starting point. Now start again from this point, facing your leaves the other way and going in the opposite direction around the wreath. Make sure that you overlap the leaves at the starting point, so there are no gaps. If this seems a bit too tricky you can always just continue on as you were all the way around the circle so all your leaves will be facing the same way. Complete the circle of leaves. 13) Tie a half bow in your ribbon so there is a small loop and one short and one long end. Thread the long end behind in the leaves in the top center of the wreath. Staple the ribbon to the wreath.
11) Continue stapling the leaves in place. I found it useful to stop often and hold the wreath at arms-length so I could see the overall shape that was being formed. Make sure the tips of your leaves follow the curve of the wreath base.

Coffee Filter Christmas Wreath

By: Lisa for Recaptured Charm Take one look at this stunning Christmas wreath and you might think, Wow, that seems so complicated to make! but this elegant door decoration is actually really simple to put together. Coffee filters are the new fad in wreath making, and this amazing project takes the trend to a whole new level!
2) Run the filter through your hand to make a flower. Flatten the bottom and apply hot glue.
3) Start gluing filters to the inside of the wreath and work your way out. No need to go all the way around. Leave the back as flat as you can.
4) Using sharp scissors trim any areas that are uneven.
Materials:
Styrofoam wreath form Approximately 200 coffee filters Hot glue and glue gun Decorations of your choice (ornaments, pine cones, branches, etc.)
Instructions: 5) Hot glue on any decorations you like. 1) Fold the basket shaped filter in half.

St. Patricks Day Wreaths

Lucky Clover Wreath
By: Liz for Busy Lizzy's Bring an extra bit of luck to your home this St. Patricks Day by making a fun and festive clover covered wreath! Even if you arent Irish, you can still celebrate the holiday by decking your home out in various shades of green! Lucky for you, this is one wreath craft thats super simple to put together so why not get started making one today?
Instructions: 1) First wrap you wreath with your ribbon. 2) Now make your shamrocks. To do this I found a 3 leaf clover clip art and a 4 leaf clover clip art and printed them off in 2 different sizes. My large was slightly bigger than 3 inches and my small was about 1 1/2 inches. 3) Trace an assortment of your shamrocks onto freezer paper. You will need about 15 from each piece of fabric. Trace onto a size that will fit your fabric. 4) Iron your interfacing onto the wrong side of your fabric and then iron your freezer paper to the right side of your fabric. Then cut all of them out. 5) Now just piece a large one and a small one together and stick one of you white pins through them into the wreath. 6) Fill up your wreath with clovers.
Materials:
A wreath you can wrap and stick pins into. 1/8 yd of 4 pieces of green fabric 1 yd heavy iron on interfacing (or wonder under) Freezer paper White ball-headed pins 9ish yards of 3 inch ribbon to wrap the wreath with 1 yd ribbon for bow.

Handmade Wreaths for All Seasons: 14 Wreath Tutorials 7) Make a bow by looping your ribbon around until you have 6 large loops. You do not need to tie or sew the bow to the wreath. Simply take a pair of shamrocks and use a pin to stick them plus your bow to the wreath form.
8) Admire your finished wreath!

Tickled Pink Valentine Wreath

2) Cut out your heart. Tip: An Exacto knife is much faster and easier than scissors.
3) Glue, starting at the bottom and going around the outer edge, gluing every 6 inches or so. Repeat with the inner edge of the heart. 4) Using tulle or ribbon, hot glue onto back of heart.
Materials: 2 feather boas (6 ft/2 yds each) Cardboard (22" wide x 25" tall) Hot glue Scissors/Exacto knife Ribbon or tulle Instructions: 1) Freehand two hearts onto your cardboard.
5) Hang your wreath to let everyone know that love is in the air!
