Introduction Pakistani farmers usually consider that NPK is the only fertilizer for the optimum growth of crops,

and mostly neglect the importance of Micronutrients. Many scientists have proved that micronutrients have an encourage effect on crops on quality and quantity. But they rarely use this because they are poor and illiterate. Rafique and Rasheed (2006) Besides the macronutrients, Micronutrient deficiency is also a big problem in Pakistan, as well as it is widespread in plants, animals, and Humans in many Asian countries due to calcareous nature of Soil Malakoti(2008), Khan et al (2010) Production status of Maize Crop It is the 3rd most cultivated crop after wheat and rice in Punjab and KPK. Pakistan grows Corn on an area of 1.11 mh with annual production of 4.04 mtones, the potential of crop is not being exploited. Oad et al (2004) Characteristics of Maize Maize is a C4 crop mostly more water efficient plant than C3 crops. It is most sensitive to drought at the time of silk emergence. Fernendaz et al (2011) Nutrient management for maize crop. It is proved that when both the organic and inorganic fertilizer are available then these should be provide in combination such as 50% N from organic manure and the remaining from urea, to get maximum yield. Cheema et al(2011) 1. adequate soil fertility is one of the requirements for profitable corn production
2. FYM to be incorporated in soil 15 to 20 days before sowing 3. Nitrogen is the most limiting nutrient for corn production. 4. For rainfed KPK maize lower range recommended 5. Zinc sulphate @ 5 kg/acre based on soil test. 6. All p and K and nitrogen at sowing preferably by band placement if sown in rows. 7. Potassium and micronutrients should be applied on soil test basis. 8. Remaining nitrogen to be applied at two splits. When crop is half meter height and pretaseling stage , to be followed by irrigation.

9. For local varieties, the fertilizer rate can be reduced to half. 10. In rainfed areas, all fertilizers to be applied at sowing time. 11. FYM where available must be applied about one month prior to sowing maize and incorporated in the soil.

Percentage of crop area under different crops

Nutrient management in wheat field Application of 100% recommended dose fertilizer and 75% of farm yard manure at 10h increases grain yield of wheat by 35.6 and 42.6%. Farm yard manure strongly conserves the soil humidity as well as serves for availability of nutrients and also increases the soil physical property. Gaur (2002), Kumar and Thakur(2004)
