For those who love strawberries, blueberries, vanilla ice cream, and patriotism,
this Jell-O will make you wish you could hit all the notes in The Star-Spangled
Banner. Now is the time to use that star-shaped mold. Note: This ice cream
treat is best served cold immediately after unmolding.
First Layer
1 tablespoon (1 envelope)
unflavored gelatin powder
tin over the cold water and allow the gelatin to absorb the

water for 2 minutes. Add the boiling water and stir until the

until the gelatin is set but not firm (see page 9).
Meanwhile, to make the second layer, in a separate bowl,

and stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Add the sugar
and stir until dissolved. Stir in the ice cream until the mixture is smooth. Let the mixture cool to room temperature,
then spoon into the mold over the berry layer. Refrigerate
until firm (see page 9). Unmold and serve.
