e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.

I like people of all ages, dogs, cats, and livestock. I like to fetch rubber toys, go for walks, and go swimming. I am a very good looking guy who is friendly. I think I would really like going for runs or jogs. Come meet me at the pound where I am waiting. BUTCH is a Chihuahua/MinPin mix, 3 years old. Hi everyone! I am Butch. I am 3 years old and neutered. I like people and other dogs, and I really enjoy sleeping in bed with my person. I am not very tall, and I dont weigh much either. I really like being held and given pets. I walk on leash and enjoy going for walks. Wont you come meet me, take me for a walk, and then maybe adopt me? Please? I am waiting at the pound!

e-WOOF spotlights many dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted.
Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

The Dog and Cat Shelter, Inc. -- Sheridan, WY SPECIAL NEEDS: Contact: 307-674-7694 or Cel at dogncat@fiberpipe.net JIRO is a ten-month-old Great Pyrenees/Blue Heeler mix who four months ago, came to the Shelter afraid of everything, including people. She is much better now but still has a ways to go. Jiro is beginning to show a sweet, comical personality. She really wants to interact with people and will crouch and crawl up to you, not sure to expect. But, she sure enjoys the attention (and treats!) once she reaches you. This young dog needs a home where she will be loved and helped to gain some confidence. She would be great with gentle children. She will be a large dog. She is very trainable and willing to please but will need work because she was not human socialized as a baby. She is spayed and current on shots.

The Dog and Cat Shelter, Inc. -- Sheridan, WY SPECIAL NEEDS: Contact: 307-674-7694 or Cel at dogncat@fiberpipe.net LUCKY LADY is a very sweet and loveable eight-yearold brown brindle Chihuahua who was rescued from the streets and brought to the Shelter by a good samaritan. Naturally she was terrified, but even more than most lost little dogs, because she is nearly blind. She does very well and follows you around and even wants to play. She also has a fatty tumor on her chest which, other than being unsightly, should cause no worries. She will lie on your lap for hours. She is completely housetrained and would bring much love and joy to her new owner. She is spayed and current on shots. MOLLY is a six-year-old Treeing Hound mix. She came in with her buddy, Max, who is the same breed. Molly was very shy and nervous around people and had obviously not been treated too well. By the way they act and move, we believe they were hunted a lot but never got much attention or affection. Molly has made a lot of progress and now really enjoys being petted and fussed over. She is very friendly and sweet once she trusts you. She also gets along well with other dogs and pretty much just goes her own way. She is spayed and current
on shots.

In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. Wyoming Aussie Rescue -- Sheridan, WY Contact: Annette at rugby_chase@hotmail.com NITRO is about 18 months old. He is an Australian Cattle
Dog/possible terrier mix. Hes about 17 tall and weighs 24 lbs. He would do best in a one or two person household, no kids or at least much older children. His person just needs to go slowly because he is fearful of new people. However, within 24 hours he was crawling in my lap and licking my face. He has taken treats while on a leash from several people he did not know...wouldnt make eye contact, but was able to behave appropriately. Hes very curious, very busy, and has some energy to burn. Nitro is treat-motivated and has good recall while in the yard. Hes going over an agility jump and loves to go for walks (leashed). Once he knows hes safe, he seems really eager to bond. We are not entirely sure if hes housebroken but that is doable and a work in progress. He likes to play with some dogs, but not necessarily all of them. Nitro is just a cute little guy who we believe really wants to belong. He will be a great boy once he is settled and knows he is in a permanent home. ____________

I am a 4 year old neutered male black Lab. I have a lot of energy and love to play. I get along with other dogs very well. I am good with kids too. I especially love retrieving a tennis ball and going on long walks! I am looking for a loving family who have time to spend with me. Everyone should know that the Park County Animal Shelter has a foster program, and I would be fine with just being your house-guest for a while!

I am a 7 year old, spayed female, black Lab mix. Luke is my run-mate right now, and we have a good time playing in the yard. I also get along with all the other dogs I have come in contact with. My favorite things to do are to play fetch with just about any toy, and to receive treats for being such a good girl! You should come visit me at the shelter sometime. Ill be waiting!
