2:4 Adjectives to adverbs
A Many adverbs are formed by adding ly to adjectives: unusual, unusually; immediate, immediately; slow, slowly (i) y changes to i: ready, readily. (ii) e is retained: extreme, extremely. Exceptions: true, truly; due, duly; whole, wholly. (c) able/ible drop the e and add y: probable, probably; flexible, flexibly (d) vowel + l follow the usual rule: original, originally; final, finally Exceptions The adverb of good is well.
