The following outlines credit control duties

Handles a client ledger as part of a credit team Initiate follow up mails for outstanding payment Talking with parties & initiating mails with detail of due payments Maintains accurate and up to date customer details and account records Visits customers and travels to outstanding meetings with help of sales Protects the companys interests at creditors meetings relating to insolvent customers Undertakes complex reconciliations, and compiles documentation for legal action Monitors overdue payments by use of a spreadsheet Responsible for own payment allocation or through authorize person in region or Mumbai finance. Works with a minimum of supervision on collection of overdue accounts Has regular initiatives for customer contact by phone, letters and email Uses initiative and imagination to achieve targeted results, while promoting customer goodwill Makes adjustments, handles queries and resolves problems within company guidelines and policy Anticipates developments, and identifies accounts that will require special attention Handles disputed accounts and negotiates to bring payment into line with terms Credit team use email, letters, and telephone to contact debtors and ensure payment of outstanding invoices. Credit checks new customers and open new credit accounts ensuring the company have all the relevant information on the debtor. Keep a record of all communication with the customer, this is important when there are payment problems and the account becomes legal, these records are needed for court proceedings. Resolve all problems for clients, copy invoices, proof of delivery, credit notes, and liaise internally to progress any problems that are being handled in any other department. Reconcile accounts and do the same for the month end for the whole debtor ledger. Report to Seniors on outstanding issues and inform them early of potential debtors problems. Credit team have own book of debtors accounts to manage, over the time they will become very familiar with these companies what their needs are and how to deal with late payments on each of them. Weekly Projection of receivable & collection reports Periodic MIS (Like :-Daily, Weekly, Monthly) to Senior & Management.
