The Gospel Changes Everything Children Bible camps Curriculum 2012 JESUS- FROM THE BEGINNING Session 1: In the

beginning God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Gen. 1:26 Then God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. God has 3 identities, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They have all been in existence from the beginning. They had a plan for our lives even before the world was created. The CREATION STORY #2 Everything was perfect in the beginning. But God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit knew that there would need to be a plan for the salvation of man. They knew that we would need a Savior. The FALL of MAN STORY #3 Gen. 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil.

v. 23 Therefor the LORD sent them out from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. v. 24 He drove out the man, and at the east of the Garden of eden, He placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." Without God there is no life. Without God there is only death.

Session 2:

The Need for a Savior

Once man became separated from God, he needed to pay the price for his sin so that he could be reconciled with God. Reconciled means to be brought back together. There must be a sacrifice- the shedding of innocent blood as an atonement for our sin. Leviticus 5: 17 If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the LORDs commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible. 18 They are to bring to the priest as a guilt offering a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value. In this way the priest will make atonement for them for the wrong they have committed unintentionally, and they will be forgiven. 19 It is a guilt offering; they have been guilty of wrongdoing against the LORD.

ABRAHAM'S SACRIFICE of ISAAC STORY #7 The sacrifice of an animal cannot take away our sin. It was only an offering to the LORD as an admission of guilt and acknowledging sin. There is only One who would be perfect and pure enough to take away the sin of the world. It is Jesus Christ. From the beginning of time, God had made a plan that His one and only Son, Jesus, would be the perfect sacrifice who would give His life and shed His blood to take away the sin of the world once and for all. God whispered His plan to the prophet Isaiah who wrote about the coming Messiah. The Prophecy of the Messiah Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on Davids throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

Session 3. The birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus

Jesus comes to dwell among us- Immanuel The BIRTH of JESUS STORY #15 Jesus came to live on the earth in a body just like ours so that He could experience and understand everything that we do. God is with us

Hebrews 2:17-18 17 "For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." Because He is God, He has the power to heal and authority over all things. Because He is God, He rejected every temptation to sin. Remember, He knew the plan to be the perfect sacrifice. If He sinned, He could not be our Savior. Some of the people who were in government were afraid He had come to take over. They wanted him dead. Other people who were religious rulers were jealous of His power and the people who were following Him. They also wanted to kill Jesus.

JESUS' DEATH STORY #20 RESURRECTION of JESUS STORY #21

Session 4: The Rest of the Plan

God's plan in not finished. After Jesus rose from the dead, He went back to live with His Father in Heaven. there now, waiting to be with you again. He is

Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. So, how are we reconciled with the Father? Him? What must we do to be saved from death and to live eternal life with

Acts 16:31 They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be savedyou and your household. Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you have believed and confessed to know Jesus, you will live with Him forever in a perfect place called Heaven just like the Garden of Eden- where there is no sickness or sadness or darkness or loneliness. When your life on earth in this body is over, you will be with Him- forever!
