In this workshop students will learn the fundamentals of jewellery making by being guided along a series of skill based project s. In the 8 sessions students will learn the following techniques: use jewellery making tools, saw piercing, riveting,

Jewellery Making The Next Step


Dates: 17 July 4 September (Tuesdays) Time: 6pm 9:00pm

This workshop will be held over two consecutive weeks. In the first week students will learn to use a jewellers saw to pierce out patterns in sheet metal, in addition to this students will be shown how to apply a high level of surface finish to metal surfaces by using files, emery paper and polishing techniques. In the second class students will learn the different riveting techniques for the cold connection of two materials. The student will be guided along the process of riveting their saw pierced sheet metal to a Perspex backing to form a pendant. Class Costs: $240 (for 2 sessions including materials)

Date: Wednesday 18th July, 6pm-9pm Skill Level - Beginner No. of Classes - One Session In this workshop students will learn the technique of roller printing to imprint different patterns onto a metal surface. Students will then use this technique along with saw piercing to produce a ring or a pendant. Materials such as feathers, lace, paper, dried leaves and many more make very interesting patterns. We encourage all participants to bring along some samples of materials that they would like to roller print. Skill Level Beginner No. of Classes One Session In this workshop students will learn to make a chainmaille Class Costs: $160 (materials included) bracelet using either the Persian or Byzantine pattern. In this workshop students will learn jewellery making techniques such as soldering, saw piercing, ring forming, and doming to produce their own handmade ring. Students can choose to cut-out shapes for the top of their ring or use text to personalise their ring. Class Costs: $160 (materials included)
