IV. Learning Material a. Pre Concept : Living thing have many characteristic so they can call that. One of characteristic living thing is reproduction b. Elaboration
1. Organs of Human Reproductive System Man Reproductive Organ (outer and inner organ).

Woman Reproductive Organ (outer and inner organ). 2. Formation process of gamete/gametogenesis (gametogenesis) : spermatogenesis and oogenesis. 3. Hormones that influence reproductive system a. Man (1) Hormone that controls man sexual development (2) Hormone that influence spermatogenesis process b. Woman (1) Hormone that controls woman sexual development (2) Hormone that influence oogenesis process (3) Hormone that has role in menstruation (4) Hormone that have role in pregnancy (5) Hormone that has role in birth. 4. Menstruation cycle 5. Pregnancy 6. Disease or disturbance in human reproductive system 7. Contraception device
8. Health of reproduction organ (man and woman).

c. Description Reproductive system 1. Organs of Human Reproductive System

Male Reproductive System: a. Outer Reproductive organ 1) Penis

: Is the external genitals, copulation function to the

appliance, which is to insert sperm into the reproductive tract in women.

2) Scrotum : is a skin sac that contains many pigments, it grown by rough

hairs and much contains gland. Scrotum is also call by cover of testis.
b. Inner Reproductive organ 1) Testis

: it has one pair of ovale shaped and kept in scrotum. The

function is produce sperm cells and also producing testosterone hormone..

2) Reproductive tract o

Epididymis

: a place of maturation (ripening) and sperm storage.

Epididymal form of a meandering channel contained in the scrotum.

o

Vas deferens (sperm channel): is a continuation of the epididymis channels, serves to channel the sperm to the urethra.

o o

Ejaculation Canal : short canal (vesicula seminalis urethra) Urethra : the continuation of the vas deferens, is used to deliver the sperm out and a urinary tracts from the bladder to the outside.

3) Sex Gland o

Vesicule Seminalis : This gland produces a thick yellow fluid, containing a food That is a source of energy for Sperm movement. Prostate Gland : Gland is the Largest cement producer, is thin and white, filled with food for the sperm. Boulbourethra Gland (Cowper) : These glands along the urethra there, works to clear mucus secreting fluids were That neutralize the acidic liquid urine is left in the urethra.

The number is 1 pairs, located inside the abdominal cavity, functioning to the formation of egg cells and produce hormones estrogen and progesterone.
b. Reproductive tract,

1) 1 pair of funnel infundibulum, functions to capture the egg from the ovary. 2) 1 pair of tubes or Synthesis in the Oviduct tuba, an oviduct, serves as the site of fertilization (conception). 3) Tuba Fallopii (egg canal) 4) The uterus (womb), serves as a place of fetal growth and development. 5) The vagina, the organ for copulation and childbirth.

Fig.2 Female Reproductive System (Source: Campbell, Neil A . 2009. Biology. San Francisco:Benjamine Cummings) 2. Gametogenesis a. Spermatogenesis

Spermatogenesis, the formation and development of sperm, is continuous and prolific in adult males. To produce hundreds of millions of sperm each day, cell

division and maturation occur throughout the seminiferous tubules coiled within the two testes.

2. Oogenesis Oogenesis, the development of mature oocytes (eggs), is a prolonged process in the human female. Immature eggs form in the ovary of the female embryo but do not complete their development until years, and often decades, later.

Fig.4 Oogenesis (Source: Campbell, Neil A . 2009. Biology. San Francisco:Benjamine Cummings)

The different between Spermatogenesis and oogenesis.

1. Spermatogenesis do all four products of meiosis develop into mature

gametes. While oogenesis, cytokinesis during meiosis is unequal, with almost all the cytoplasm segregated to a single daughter cell, the secondary oocyte. This large cell is destined to become the egg; the other products of meiosis, smaller cells called polar bodies, degenerate.
2. Spermatogenesis, including the mitotic divisions ofstem cells and

differentiated spermatogonia, occurs throughout adolescence and adulthood. During oogenesis in human females, mitotic divisions are thought to becomplete before birth, and the production of mature gametes ceases at about age 50.
3. Spermatogenesis produces mature sperm from precursor cells in a

continuous sequence, whereas oogenesis has long interruptions.
