THE CHALLENGE
Golden Gates Housing Trust had experienced a number of issues throughout its network that resulted in a slow and unreliable connection for its 310 system users. In order to combat this, GGHT required a cabling infrastructure and equipment upgrade and searched for an experienced IT solutions provider. GGHT chose ISG technology, the networking and IT specialist, to carryout an extensive server analysis and network monitoring and to provide consultation regarding an e ective long term solution. In the analysis and monitoring ISG technology found dated network infrastructure, limited port capacity, multiple telecommunication providers and a multiple Internet gateway.

SOLUTIONS DELIVERED
ISG technology began by analysing the existing installation, paying particular attention to the way in which the primary servers utilised the existing ports. Using experienced server specialists, ISG technology quickly identi ed and recti ed GGHTs network problem, whilst other engineers focused on upgrading the core and edge switches. ISG technology upgraded the network core providing an IPv6 ready, fully redundant core and LAN switches, hot swappable modules, redundant power supplies, 10GB trunks to edge switches, 1G LAN ports and PoE ready core and edge switches. Following the execution of the network and server upgrade, ISG technology thoroughly tested the servers connectivity, all applications, phones, Internet and remote user connectivity. ISG technology completed the system upgrade over a single weekend thereby minimising disruption to customer services, which was extremely important for GGHT. GGHT and ISG technology signed a new three-year contract to provide 24x7x365 network monitoring and support on the back of this successful operation.

We are really pleased with the way ISG technology performed. ey met all our project deadlines and have resolved some long standing system problems. We now have a stable network platform for our sta to work from. Im con dent that our new long term relationship with ISG technology will bear fruit for GGHT at a challenging time in the development of our business.
