WATERMARK, HANOI WESTLAKE REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT JSC TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION HEATING, VENTILATION & AIR CONDITIONING SERVICES 5.7 AXIAL FLOW FANS. (a) General ‘Supply and install axial flow fans as specified on the drawings scheduled later in this section of the specification, Fans shall have limit load characteristics, In case of fans built into proprietary ine equipment, the manufacturers’ standard construction may be accepted. Tenders shall state in what manner the item offered differs from this specification Fans shall be tested as part ofthe specified tests on the completed system. Resilient bearing mountings shall be used when they are available and suitable. Blades shall be of aerofoil section made of aluminium or glass fibre reinforced plastic. They shall be adjustable in pitch angle and positively locked into the hubs. By adjustment of pitch angle alone and without changing the motor, fans shall be capable of delivering the specified flow rate at system resistances from at least 10% below to at least 10% above the contractor's assessment (b). Materials ‘The materials shall be as follows: Fan Location Shalt Casing Exposed to weather Stainless Sieal ‘ther Location High Tense Stoo ‘Materials shall conform to the following standards ‘Wid Stee! Comstee! 431) (©) Casing Fan casing shall be of heavy material and at least the length of the fan/motor assembly. Casing shall be fitted with mounting flanges at both ends and also with drilled matching flanges. Provide terminal box and access panel to the moving parts in accessible positions on the casing, (a). Shaft Drive shafts shall be designed such that the first critical speed of the shaft is at least 130% of the normal operating speed of the fan. (e) Bearings ‘All beatings shall be semi-self aligning ball or roller type selected for a life ‘expectancy of 300,000 hours. Tolerances shall be such as to ensure specified noise levels are not exceeded. Axial thrusts, where shafts exceed 30mm shall be taken by ball thrust bearings. In other cases, deep-groove ball bearings may bbe used. All bearing housings shall be dowelled and have individually identfied packer plates. Bearings shall be sealed with felt or “Gaco” type seals with provision for relieving excess grease pressure. All bearings shall have grease pipes and nipples mounted in easily accessible positions on the casing. Connell Wagner FILE @:00! Provide approved means to facilitate adjustment. Provide and fit an approved easily removable belt and pulley guard. Drives shall have a power rating 30% in excess of the motor power rating. Carefully align the drive to yield minimum noise. Belt guard shall be fully enclosed inside the casing and also outside where exposed to the weather. Arrange for easy replacement of bets. Balancing Allrotating parts shall be fully statically and dynamically balanced, Vibration Isolation Each fan/motor assembly shall be mounted on combination springiribbed neoprene mounts so located that they deflect uniformly. Springs shall have a ‘mean coil diameter not lass than 80% of the loaded spring length. Springs shall be capable of 150% of the specified static deflection. Mounts shall be provided with lock-nutted levelling screws. These mountings shall be equal to Mason SLF with acoustical isolation cups and a minimum deflection, when in operation at full system resistance, of not less than 50mm. Flexible duct connections shall be arranged to suit with a metal support ring inside the inlet of the flexible to prevent the flexible being sucked into the duct.
