16-bit MP. Memory size 16MB. Can execute 4 mega instructions per second. Higher features and speed as compared with 8088.

80386

1986

32-bit MP. Memory size 4GB. Also available in modified version like 80386SX, 80386SL, 80386SLC. In 1995 intel released the 80386EX which is also known as embedded PC. It has also facility of GUI and VGA.

80486

1989

32-bit MP. Almost same characteristics as 80386. 8KB cache memory. 50% higher speed than 80386.

Pentium microprocessors

1993

Similar to 80386 and 80486. It was originally labeled P5 or 80586. Clock freq 60MHz-66MHz. Can execute 150 MIPS.
