The Magician stands at the centre of the temple facing East and invokes the mystery: I reign over you, sayeth the God of Justice, in power exalted above the firmaments of wrath; in whose hands the sun is as a sword, and the moon as a through-thrusting fire. The Magician then circles the temple, beginning in the East, proclaiming the banishment at each quarter in turn: E: Hekas, Hekas, Este Bebeloi (bell) S: Hekas, Hekas, Este Bebeloi (bell) W: Hekas, Hekas, Este Bebeloi (bell) N: Hekas, Hekas, Este Bebeloi (bell) Be ye far, all ye profane. The Magician continues to circumambulate around the quarters, and then gathering force spirals into the centre while intoning: For when all the phantoms have vanished, there thou shalt see that holy and formless fire, that fire which darts and flashes throughout the hidden depths of the universe: hear thou the voice of fire! The incense offering is now made with the circumambulation: For it is writtem: Wisdom sitteth upon an hill, and beholdeth the four winds, and girdeth herself together as the brightness of the morning; which is visited with a few, and dwelleth alone as though she were a widow. (Bell 3) The Magician, having prepared the place of working and empowered the body of light, now proceeds to the invocation of the Watchtowers. Facing East: Divine powers of wisdom, that dwell upon the threshold in the towers of the earth, great guardians of the terrestrial gates, I invoke ye. The Magician makes the sign of the Enterer toward each Watchtower in turn, while projecting the appropriate sign from the energized ajna chakra:5 E: S: W: N:

While projecting the appropriate sign toward each Watchtower, the Magician vibrates the Divine names from the Black Cross: EXARP HCOMA NANTA BITOM. The Magician follows these names by making the sign of the rending of the veil, while visualising the coloured veil that seals the portal of the Watchtower beginning to open (E: Red / S: White / W: Green / N: Black). The Magician withdraws from each quarter in the Sign of Silence. The Magician now communes with the powers invoked, further energizing their body of light. The Magician now speaks rapt with the powers of the spirit: For behold that sacred and formless fire, extending throughout the rushings of air; or even a fire formless, whence cometh the image of a voice, revolving, resounding, whirling forth, crying aloud! The Magician, now inflamed with prayer, performs both invoking active and passive spirit pentagrams. The Magician then opens their aura, expanding the body of light and calls forth and invokes: I invoke and call upon thee, O sacred flame of life, O thou angelic fire, O ye angels of the secret wisdom: I call ye, dwell in me, open the mysteries of your creation, be friendly unto me; for I am the servant of the same your God, the true worshipper of the Highest. ANGELIC CROSS IADA (Form triangle above) CASGO (Drawn down to below) CHRISTOS (Left arm to right shoulder) LUCFTAS (Right arm to left shoulder) GMICLZMA (Extend to form Tau) IADNMAD (Sign of Silence) The Magician may now proceed to further work, or if the ritual is used in daily practice there should be a period of communion followed by a closing of the veils of the Watchtowers, sealing these with the appropriate signs (as in the opening), and then a final vibration of the Angelic Cross. The ritual has many uses and subtleties of form, which will be apparent to the experienced Magician. It is enough to say that the ritual serves to open a gateway into the mysteries of the Enochia, and may be used for the invocation of the H.G.A. Copyright Order Paper of the Temple of Flame.

[The signs of the quarters are coloured according to the complementary colour scheme for the element which they represent.] [Note that zorge is to be pronounced zordj. The q of q is probably pronounced as the Biblical Hebrew Qoph or the Arabic Qaf; to pronounce which, make the sounds ik, ak, uk, and note where the tongue is, then bring it back one stage further to get the guttural q. It is distinguished from quu (our English qu, or rather kw) in the MSS. of John Dee. The sentence reads: Move and show yourselves!
