The Bowie County Blade

Cutting through to the truth.

Chairman Ken Autrey Remarks

The resignation of County Treasurer Brice Feasel was the result of health problems. While in office, he initiated several improvements in the management of County finances. The Commissioners Court met and appointed Donna Burns, past treasurer to serve the interim period until the November general election. The Bowie County Republican Party executive committee met in closed session on June 22 to plan the nomination process for selecting a candidate. The person elected in November will fill out the two years remaining of Brice Feasels term. The Executive Committee decided to re-convene on August 20 to hear from those desiring to be the Republican candidate. Chairman Autrey said there are already three or four potential candidates. All will get a fair hearing in the August meeting. ************************* 2012 Republican State Convention in Review - Rep. George Lavender The 2012 Republican State Convention was one of the best in recent years. It was well attended and well organized; both of which are monumental feats given the chaotic political schedule of this election cycle. I applaud Chairman Munisteri and his staff for a job very well done. At the Convention, Senate District 1 elected many great people to various positions, including Chuck Blankenship from Bowie County. Mr. Blankenship was elected as an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention. Congratulations! ***********************

THE OBAMACARE FIASCO IS ALREADY AFFECTING US One of our Bowie County members has already run into the Medical Panels and the restrictions of senior care. This is her experience: Actually, the death panel age was lowered to age 70 on January of 2012, and will be lowered to 65 on January of 2013. I've used up my 3 alloted doctor's visits and one test/scan for the year, and can no longer get a med I've taken for 12 years.... I'll continue to have the $300.00 Medicare premium deducted from my SS retirement check each month, and can't see a doctor until next year. I paid for the three visits because I'd not met my Medicare deductible. The Supreme Court's decision gave me the same sickening feeling I had the morning I learned Obozo had been elected president. But then someone has to pay for all the Medicaid freeloaders/deadbeats/illegals filling up the ERs who are sucking the Medicare Fund into bankruptcy and have never paid a dime into the fund, and never will pay. And here is another case: Forget about getting to age 75, this exact thing happened to me this morning at Danbury hospital here in Ct. I was scheduled for a cardio-lite stress test. This is a tread mill stress test where during the process they inject nuclear dye into your blood stream and then put you in a CAT scan or something similar and take a picture of your heart. If all is good the heart shows up red, if there are blocked arteries anywhere that portion of the heart shows up pink. I have had three of these tests in the past twelve years due to blocked arteries discovered in 2000. They use the test to determine if I need a roto router or a bypass operation. So I arrive at the hospital at 8 am this morning and I am in the process of checking in at Cardiology and the lady says that my appointment has been canceled. She makes a call and speaks with someone and hands me the phone. It is a nurse in cardiology who says that my medical coverage denied the procedure. I said it was routine, part of my heart maintenance process and ordered by my PCP and with approval from my Cardiologist who is the head of Danbury Cardiology which is right where I was standing. She goes, "yes but we were denied our request". So I say, I have Medicare so what is my backup insurance doing denying anything.. Then the bombshell, she says it was the Medicare board that denied the procedure. *************************

AWAKE. Erik Erikson, Red State

In the past twenty-four hours I have gotten a lot of heat from friends over my take on what John Roberts did. Whats done is done and I really could not get all worked up about it because Obamacare in the Courts has been such a distraction. Yet again the GOP expected a court to save them from something they did not like. The tea party movement provided the GOP with the energy, man power, and money to take back the House in 2010 and come close in the Senate. For that, the GOP has routinely given the tea party

the middle finger and, instead of fighting for repeal of Obamacare, excused itself while the Supreme Court did the heavy lifting. John Roberts, the man who gave us the Citizens United case has now, with a laughably inane ruling, told us we have to fight politically. The millions of people who joined the tea party in 2009 only to go back to their jobs and families after the 2010 election are now awake.

******************* SAMIAM--NOT I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his health care scam. I do not like these dirty crooks, or how they lie and cook the books. I do not like when Congress steals, I do not like their secret deals. I do not like ex-speaker Nan , I do not like this 'YES, WE CAN!' I do not like this spending spree --I'm smart; I know that nothing's free. I do not like your smug replies, when we complain about your lies. I do not like this kind of hope. I do not like it --- nope, nope, nope! GO GREEN !!RECYCLE THE WHITE HOUSE
******************* June 12, 2012 Brent Bozell, President Media Research Center More than 1,000 people gathered Friday in front of the federal building in downtown Detroit to protest the Obama administrations HHS mandate. The bias beat goes on, and it's getting more obvious as outrage against Obama and his mandate spreads to every corner of America. The three television broadcast networks completely ignored tens of thousands of Americans who participated in more than 160 coordinated noontime rallies in support of religious freedom across the United States this past Friday, according to a new Media Research Center analysis. The networks didnt commit a single second of coverage on either their morning or evening broadcasts to the widespread dissent against the anti-religious freedom Health and Human Services mandate.

By comparison, CBS News dedicated four separate on-air segments between May 30 and June 1 to the supporters of a group of left-leaning Catholic nuns. CBS correspondent Wyatt Andrews boasted that, "hundreds of Catholics have rallied behind the sisters," and that "protests in support of the nuns have been held in almost 50 cities, a fraction of the size and scope of the rallies held in opposition to the Obamacare mandate created to restrict religious liberty. This disgraceful decision by the networks to deliberately ignore this national demonstration in support of religious freedom comes only weeks after these same networks deliberately and shamefully ignored the largest legal action ever taken against the government by the Catholic Church in the history of this Republic. CBS committed only 19 seconds of a single nightly newscast to those lawsuits while NBC and ABC gave the story ZERO coverage. This is a pointed and deliberate message from the liberal media directed at the millions of Americans who believe in our constitutionally protected freedom of religion. Please take a moment and contact ABC, NBC and CBS about this transparent double standard. Tell them that when religious liberty comes under attack and tens of thousands take to the streets in protest, that is news!
