2. NEED ANALYSIS
From the research, it was found out that many children experience boredom during play due to lack versatile toys. It was also realized that many of the toys in the market are very expensive and way out of reach of the many children, yet they serve only one function.

3. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Creation of a remote controlled and versatile toy that can be used for both on land and on water play that is affordable.

4. DESIGN OBJECTIVES
For the toy to be able to function well both on land and in water, the following objectives are to be met: The materials used to build it should be waterproof, light-weight and tough. It should be heavy enough to move well on land. The presence of electric components will require a cooling mechanism, or the use of materials that do not build up heat quickly, or that can be able to draw away heat. It should look beautiful both when on land and in water.
It should employ the use of bright colours. These colours should be mixed but blend well. It should be strong enough to resist mechanical shocks like being dropped without breaking or getting dismantled. Materials and components used should be able to work efficiently under high or very low temperatures, and under rapidly changing conditions e.g. during child play. The body shape should be beautiful in form, the body components should be proportional to each other and colour aesthetics will be employed.
It should be very easy to operate. It should be 100% safe to use for children and to any other person using it. It should also be safe to the environment. Its components

should not be dismantled easily by children to avoid the risk of them ingesting them. The electric components should be protected against water and anything else that can cause short circuiting and blowing. It should also be easily disposable. Should use locally available materials and resources and technical skills in design of mechanical and electronic components. It should also use the already available production methods.

The target group is children between age 6-12, and the young at heart. Projected impact: more affordable compared to existing toys of the same caliber. Increased child-parent bonds when they play together. Inspire future engineers and the love of sciences. Inspire creativity and innovation. Enhance socialization during group play.

7. ASSUMPTIONS
On actual production, it is assumed that: It will be a hit in the toy market. Mass production will make it very affordable. It will outlast its product life. It will be continuously improved through project re-engineering. It can be taken up by car manufacturers and developed to be actualized into an actual car.
