The concrete for speedier formwork turnaround

Low Cost Apartment in Shah Alam, Selangor

Desaminium Resort Development

The special formulation of the concrete mix allows the concrete to achieve a high early strength of 10 N/mm2 in 12 hours.

Applications
UltraRapid10@12 is designed to achieve high early strength of 10 N/mm2 in 12 hours with a pumpable characteristic. UltraRapid10@12 can be used for the following structures: Residential and commercial structures Precast and prestressed concrete Bridges and civil engineering projects Any structure that requires high early strength

4. Di m e n s i o n a l a c c u r a c y a n d g o o d watertightness
Dimensional accuracy in repetitive units allows minimal construction joints during the casting of UltraRapid10@12 and the monolithic structure eliminates leakage problems at the joints.

5. Reduce labour cost and total project cost

UltraRapid10@12 shortens the construction period with easier placement of concrete and faster turnaround of formwork. Labour costs are reduced with minimised plastering works due to its smooth finishing and good workability. Therefore the total project cost is reduced (refer to Figure 3).

Due to ease of placement, large pour sizes are achievable with reduced labour and machinery requirements.

Site Practice
UltraRapid10@12 can be placed by crane or pump. As UltraRapid10@12 is designed to a specific set of criteria, the addition of water on site is strictly forbidden. The formwork must be constructed and checked to ensure that it remains tight and rigid. (refer to Figure 1)

Benefits
1. High early strength for faster removal of formwork
UltraRapid10@12 is able to achieve 10 N/mm2 in 12 hours. With the early strength gain, formworks can be removed sooner and concrete can withstand construction loads earlier than normal concrete. UltraRapid10@12 works very well with standard repetitive units to reduce construction time.

2. Go o d w o r k a b i l i t y, p u m p a b i l i t y a n d placability
UltraRapid10@12 allows 75 mm to 125 mm (3 - 5 inches) slump. With the designed slump, concrete workability, pumpability and placing qualities are improved.

3. Good surface appearance and increased surface durability, with minimal honey combing and rubbing cost
UltraRapid10@12 is easier to pump, place and finish, resulting in a more uniform, denser, smoother and better surface appearance. A quality surface with minimal finishing operations and touch-ups can also reduce finishing costs (and labour costs). Finishing can commence immediately after the removal of theformwork due to its early strength characteristic.
