ENDLESS KNOT
* LONGEVITY *
Est. time 10 min (weave) 20 min (tighten)

Fig 1 Start with a piece of cord 1 yard in length. Find the middle of the cord. Match the middle of the cord to the star in the picture. Use pins to help position the cord. Make loops about 2 - 3 inches long. Do not pin cord to board.

A
Working with cord A, move right to left, weave under and over each vertical cord in order starting with an under. (under, over, under, over) Place a pin and moving left to right, weave cord back starting with an over. (over, under, over, under) Place a pin and repeat to make a second loop as shown Pin to secure cord A. Pick up cord B

Fig 3

Thread Cord B onto craft needle to help with the next weaving steps. Moving left to right, bring cord around and over all four vertical cords in order. Place a pin and go under all four cords on the way back Place a pin and repeat to make a second loop as shown

Endless Knot Page 2 Fig 4 Making sure to keep the horizontal cords straight and in order, continue weaving as follows. Moving from bottom to top follow the pattern (under, over, over, over, under, over, over, over) Place a pin and moving from top down, follow the pattern (under, under, over, under, under, under, over, under) Repeat a second time as shown.

TIP: Using different color cords to help see the different loops, think of this step as weaving your cord through the purple (inner) loops and around (over and under) the orange (outer) loops.

Fig 5 You are done weaving! Now it is time to tighten the knot. Remove the pins from each of the inside loops. Dont forget the pin next to the star in the picture

Fig 6 Pull gently and evenly on all the outer loops until the knot begins to tighten as shown. When the knot starts to form, unpin the knot and remove from board. Tighten further until knot is smooth and flat and weave is tight.

Top Loop

To adjust the loops, start at the top loop and adjust the loop to the size you want by pulling the excess cord through the knot loops Take your time, work in one direction and make sure to keep the knot tight at all times as you pull the cord through

Fig 8 Adjust each loop as you come to it. When you have finished one side, start back at the top loop and tighten the other side.

You are finished!
