I.

STANDARD STATEMENT:

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common malignant neoplasm worldwide and the (mortality colorectal CA in the PHil) leading cause of death in the Philippines. Colorectal Cancer was said to be a result of different complex interactions between inherited susceptibility and environmental factors. Factors under Environment include lifestyle and diet. The Group focuses on the diet and lifestyle among people to reduce risk of developing Colorectal Cancer. We aim to modify the said risk factors that may lead to development of cancer.

RATIONALE:

(statisitics of Colon Cancer in Ilocos and Abra) Diet and lifestyle modification offer means of reducing risk of developing colon cancer. A study conducted by the National Cancer Institute has concluded that as much as 90 percent of all cancer in humans has been attributed to environmental factors, including diet. Dietary modification would have the greatest effect on the incidence of the cancers of the stomach and large bowel. It may not be possible to specify a diet that will guarantee that cancer can be completely eliminated, as there are other factors involved, certain diet modifications would generally help.

STRUCTURE CRITERIA:

(geography of Ilocos and Abra.) The group will need the Barangay Hall, a projector, man power, snacks, posters and pamphlets. IV. Process Criteria:

The group plan to organize a Barangay Symposium coordinating with the Baranagay Captain and Barangay Health workers through a Formal letter containing the aim of the Activity, what are to be done and who will be the facilitators. Also, the group will formally schedule a meeting with the Barangay official for us to introduce ourselves personally and to explain the activity and ask for the best time to implement the activity. After which, information dissemination will be done through posters and personal invitations. During the program, Projectors will be used for the listeners to fully understand the discussion. Also, pamphlets will be distributed regarding diet modifications for home use. The said Program will take about 1 hour to completely finish the discussion. V. OUTCOME CRITERIA

The Group can say that goal is met if there is no increase in mortality rate of Colorectal Cancer in the area. (padagdag)
