Ryan Osweiler EDTECH 505 Week 6 Assignments Chapter 9 Part C 1) Summary This section will contain a general overview

w of my project including the purpose, history, and a brief statement of the results. I will include the overall goals for conducting this evaluation. I expect to include why I chose to conduct this specific evaluation, the specific history of our district using School Fusion, the results of the surveys, and recommendations based on those results. 2) Description of Program Evaluated-This section will include a description of the intended users, length, and context. The section will detail the program objectives and components. I will include a brief history of the program and to what degree this evaluation could be used for it. I will also include the reasons for and process of deciding the specific questions to use. These were based on the actual goals for using School Fusion. They were also crafted to provide some feedback that may be essential due to being a student, parent, or teacher. 3) Evaluation Method-This section refers to the methodology of the evaluation to include a description of the participants, procedures, and data sources. I chose to use a Goal-Based evaluation because I am measuring the perceived attainment and satisfaction level of meeting/not meeting the specific goals. I will include a summary of the students, teachers, and parents who contributed data, how I went about distributing the surveys and conducting interview(s), and a description on the instruments and observations used will be here. 4) Results-This section will include all the data from surveys, personal interviews, and observations that were collected during the evaluation process. I will differentiate between the hard (factual) and soft (personal opinion) data. This section will also include unexpected effects. This could potentially include lack of sufficient responses. I will also include graphs and charts when appropriate. I am doing 3 rating scale questions so the inclusion of central tendency and variability measures. 5) Discussion-This section will be a general and specific interpretation of the data. The important part for me is to be objective in this section. If results are positive and/or negative, they need to be communicated clearly in this section. I will break the data into questions and objectives to do an independent analysis of each. This will help to setup the conclusions and recommendations section. I will also attempt to explain the resources used as well as a benefit analysis to show the value of this evaluation. 6) Project Cost-This section includes associated costs with performing the evaluation. A budget or list of expenses would be included here. I will include a few paragraphs to discuss the items in detail and the justification for those specific expenses. I will draft a sample invoice to include as well. 7) Appendices-This section will include any important documentation obtained or used during the evaluation. The survey will be included here and all of the data collected from it. Some of the

data will be included in the results section but it will all be found here. Any transcripts or emails used for interviews or data collection purposes will be included here.

Chapter 10 Part C The first thing that jumped out at me in the evaluation report was the small differences in structure from what I had read in chapter 9. I was expecting to see the same 7 sections but had to remember that there isnt one specific format that these reports are in. I remember reading that they can be tailored to fit the needs of the evaluator and evaluation. The introduction was long but included some of the history in it as opposed to a separate section. I prefer to keep the history section separate from the introduction. I also noticed, as referred to in chapter 9, that the discussion section could be rolled into the results, as it was. I actually do see the merit in this. When I read through the report, it was nice for me to have an interpretation of the data there in the same section it was being presented it. I was happy to see charts added to the results section as I plan on doing that. For visual learners, the inclusion of data represented in image form can have a big impact. The sample contact made more sense to me after completing the evaluation proposal. For me, it is easier to understand main points and objectives in a bullet point format. I know when reading about the recommendations section of the evaluation report, the book suggests putting it in a list format rather than a narrative. I agree with that formal in these evaluations. If I put myself in the shoes of one receiving the evaluation, I want to know the main points and what the important objectives and recommendations are.
