El seccionador by-pass BP est diseado para aislar y poner en derivacin reclosers automticos u otros equipos en sistemas de distribucin elctrica de hasta 36 kV con el fin de repararlos o darles mantenimiento.

The by-pass disconnect switch BP is designed to isolate and by-pass automatic circuit reclosers or other equipment of electrical distribution systems up to 36 kV for repair o routine maintenance.

CARACTERSTICAS DEL PRODUCTO Tensin Nominal de 13,8 kV hasta 36 kV. Capacidad de 400 A hasta 630 A de corriente continua. Terminales de conexin de cobre plateado electrolticamente, con contactos NEMA 2. Disponible en tres configuraciones, BP1 con portafusible y cuchilla, BP2 con dos cuchillas y BP3 con tres cuchillas. Opcin a instalacin de base portafusible o cortacorriente en el BP1, con el propsito de que el seccionador se adapte a los diferentes niveles de corriente de falla o corriente continua de la aplicacin especfica. Operacin con prtiga para apertura del circuito. Cuernos rompearco en cuchilla(s) determinadas del seccionador para operacin con herramienta porttil rompecarga, si aplica. Base galvanizada en caliente con construccin rgida que contribuye a la estabilidad general del seccionador durante la derivacin. Para montaje vertical en cruceta u otra estructura dependiendo del requerimiento en campo. Cuchillas de cobre de alta conductividad plateadas electrolticamente como mnimo en las zonas de contacto. La configuracin del seccionador by-pass BP1 consiste en un fusible colocado en serie con un seccionador monopolar SV1, generalmente se utiliza en conjunto con otro SV1 instalado por separado.

The BP1 by-pass disconnect switch configuration consists of a fuse in series with an SV1 single-pole disconnect switch, it is generally applied in combination with a separately mounted SV1.

FUNCIONAMIENTO El seccionador by-pass en su condicin normal de servicio no tiene colocado el fusible, ya que tanto la cuchilla del equipo como la del seccionador monopolar del lado de la alimentacin se encuentran cerradas, y las cargas se alimentan a travs del recloser.

OPERATION The by-pass disconnect switch on its normal service condition, has the fuse removed, this due to the fact that both the equipment blade and the source-side single-pole disconnect blade are closed, and loads are served through the circuit recloser.

Sin embargo, para poner en derivacin al recloser a fin de inspeccionarlo o repararlo, se instala el fusible en el portafusible o el cortacorriente del seccionador BP1 (segn sea el caso), se abre la cuchilla desconectadora del by-pass para aislar al recloser del circuito del lado de la carga y por ltimo, se abre el seccionador monopolar del lado de la alimentacin para desenergizar el recloser y aislarlo por completo. Se puede utilizar una prtiga de gancho para ejecutar el procedimiento anterior.

However, to by-pass the recloser for repair or inspection, a fuse is installed on the fuse base or the fuse cutout holder of the BP1 disconnect switch (as applicable), the disconnect blade of the by-pass is then opened to isolate the recloser from the load-side circuit and finally, the source-side single-pole disconnect switchs blade is opened to de-energize the recloser and completely isolate it. A conventional hookstick can be used to perform each of the operations described above.
