Eroded Pipes Inside Medical Building Lined Without Disruption

Nu Flows highly skilled technicians successfully combatted a challenging job inside a multi-story medical building. The propertys copper, restroom drain lines were so badly eroded in some places that the system had to be carefully cleaned and lined. Nu Drain was used to line the failing pipe system in-place, which left the restrooms marble walls completely intact and did not disrupt normal business operations. Site: Focus Eye Centre is a 7-story medical building in Ottawa, Ontario. Founded in 1992, it is the oldest private Laser Vision Correction centre in Eastern Ontario. The commercial building also houses doctors, law firms and insurance companies. System: The horizontal and vertical copper drain pipes from the restrooms on each floor. These pipes are more than 20 years old and are located behind marble walls. Problem: The copper pipe lines eroded in some areas, due to age, which caused leaks and other failures. The vertical pipe lines are also inconveniently located behind marble walls, so an in-place pipe restoration solution was preferred. Circumvention: If the customer had chosen a traditional repair method instead of Nu Flows non-invasive approach, the buildings tenants would have probably faced difficulties with restroom closures and months of construction work. In order to access the failing pipes during a traditional repipe, the marble walls would have been destroyed and then replaced after the work was completed, which was also a deterrent to the customer. Solution: The severe extent to which the copper pipes were eroded was a challenge for the Nu Flow team, but the failing drain pipes were carefully cleaned, lined and restored with Nu Drain - Nu Flows patented in-place pipe rehabilitation process. This epoxy liner was applied to the failing pipe lines using existing access points and unique Pull-in-Place technology, thereby preserving the marble walls that cover the pipes. Nu Flows specialty equipment enabled the skilled team to remove the heavy calcite deposits within the pipes and save the structural integrity of the host pipes.
