Description

A former Maryville College football player has admitted to shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend, but did he kill her on purpose? In 2016, William Riley Gaul, 19, stood outside 16-year-old Emma Jane Walker's home and fired twice into her bedroom. One bullet got caught inside the wall but the other entered Walker's room and fatally struck her while she was asleep in bed. Now, Gaul is in court facing charges of first-degree murder. His defense attorney says, "Mr. Gaul committed the offense of reckless endangerment with the hope of coming to her rescue, of being her hero."

At a sentencing hearing last week, Gloria Williams apologized for stealing little Kamiyah Mobley nearly 20 years ago, when the baby was only eight hours old. Williams pleaded guilty to kidnapping and interference with child custody. She faces a prison sentence of up to 22 years. Kamiyah has said that she hopes that Williams will receive a lenient sentence. But Shanara Mobley, Kamiyah's birth mother, said on the stand that she hoped the judge would give Williams a death sentence-even though she is not eligible. via Knit
