Parish Patron and Founders Profile

Pastor Steve Murrell - He is the husband of one wife and the father of three sons. - He is the founding pastor of Victory - one church that meets in 16 in Metro Manila locations.

- He serves on the board of Real Life Foundation, an organization that provides scholarships for economically disadvantaged Filipino students.
- He co-founded Every Nation Churches & Ministries and the Every Nation Leadership Institute. - He and his wife first came to the Philippines in 1984 for a "one month summer mission trip" that never ended - the longest month in the history of time.

A Brief History of our Parish...

In June 26, 1984, Steve Murrell with his wife Deborah along with other missionaries and student volunteers went to Manila for a month of outreach and evangelism. Their main "Church" then was back in a rented theatre at the U-Belt area. Since then, a few years later, from the 150 students that they reached out to, came out more than 50,000 students, professionals and families. Victory at present is now located at 66 different locations nationwide and is still growing.

A Brief History of our Parish...

Victory Greenhills, one of the 14 Churches in Manila, which used to be Victory New Manila at E. Rodriguez Ave.(across St. Luke's) was recently established last 2008 at the Music Museum. It wasn't only until December 2011 that Victory Greenhills moved to a better location at V-Mall.

Analysis-Reflection...
Victory Greenhills, in our opinion, seems to be doing good and has grown a lot since 2008. This is because Victory Greenhills transferred from Music Museum (rented) to V-Mall due to the lack of space needed to accomodate people who would go to church there. Since everything is new, everything seems to be working well. However, one specific need Victory Greenhills has is the lack of numbers of volunteers in the said ministries earlier (tech, kids, ushering,etc.). Certain ministries like Tech, lack volunteers and the circulation of Tech people weekly is hard to maintain since there are only a few at present. If there are more volunteers, there would be less stress and the flow of each of the ministry's responsibilities would be smoother.

Elijah Ricamatas Reflection...

I believe that my relationship with my Church is very close. I have been going there since i was born, was baptized there and is still attending church there. I could also say that I am close with my church since I know a lot of people there and am active in the Tech ministry. Also, I am part of a small group (patterned after Jesus and his disciples/apostles but smaller) and plan on starting my own in the near future. I believe that I am close since I'm basically into everything in the church.

Mig Poncos Reflection...

In my opinion, my relationship with this parish is new and only starting to develop. This parish is not the parish I usually go to, but I have participated in this parish in the past. I hope to develop a stronger and more fruitful relationship with this parish. I say this because this parish made me feel welcome when Elijah and I went to one of the Sunday Services. In the 2nd term, when I join an organization here, I hope to do my best and contribute whatever I can to help this parish.
