Brighton Secondary School

In Australia school is compulsory from the age of 5 . You attend primary school until you reach 13. You then start Secondary School where you attend until your 17, so I have only 1 and a half years of school left Brighton Secondary School, the school I attend is a secondary school in the coastal city of Adelaide and has approximately 1350 students.
I do 7 subjects, and attend school 5 days a week from 8:30 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon.

School in Australia finished on Friday of each week, so therefore Saturday, Sunday is the weekend and free time for us. Friday night is normally spent at home with the family, have dinner and then watch movies with your family or friends, but dont really do much. Saturday morning and afternoon, is called Saturday sport. Almost every sport competition is played on Saturday morning, Aussie football, netball, basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, tennis everything! No plans are made with friends or family, as most people have sport on. I have tennis on Saturday mornings in summer and volleyball on Saturday mornings and afternoon in winter. Saturday night I normally spend with friends. There are a lot of house parties and gatherings on so we might go to one of them, or we might go out to dinner, to the cinemas. On Sunday I normally work, study, see the family or friends again.

Summer
A lot of Italians seem to go away during the winter, almost all Australians dont. Kids and teenagers get a few months holidays but adults who work dont get any holidays except for maybe a week at Christmas time. The summer is mostly spent with friends, family and working a summer job. We spend a lot of days at the beach or at a friends house as many of them have pools. There are music festivals, parties, so there always is something to do.Christmas is spent with extended family. For me, my relatives normally come to my families house and we spend Christmas there, then we normally go down the beach in the afternoon. New Years Eve I spent with friends normally.
