DISPLAY SYSTEM,DISK DRIVE

& STORAGE PRINSTERS & PLOTTERS KEYBOARD & INPUT DEVICE

Display System

Display Systems are specialists in the design and manufacture of projector systems for the simulation and training community. We work tirelessly in support of our industry through close partnership with systems integrators the world over.

Disk Drive

A machine that reads data from and writes data onto a disk. A disk drive rotates the disk very fast and has one or more heads that read and write data. There are different types of disk drivers for different types of disks. For example, a hard disk drive (HDD) reads and writes hard disk, and a floppy drive (FDD) access floppy disk. A magnetic disk drive reads magnetic disks, and an optical drive reads optical disk. Disk drives can be either internal (housed within the computer) or external(housed in a separate box that connects to the computer).

Storage

A storage device that holds, spins, reads and writes magnetic disks or optical (CD, DVD, MO, UDO) disks. It may be a receptacle for removable disk cartridges, floppy disks or optical media, or it may contain non-removable platters like most hard disk drives. See manetic disk, cd , DVD, Magnetooptic disk and UDO.

Printer
Printer is a device that accepts text and graphic output from a computer and transfers the information to paper, usually to standard size sheets of paper. Printers are sometimes sold with computers, but more frequently are purchased separately. Printers vary in size, speed, sophistication, and cost. In general, more expensive printers are used for higherresolution color printing.

The four printer qualities of most interest to most users are:

Color: Color is important for users who need to print pages for

presentations or maps and other pages where color is part of the information. Color printers can also be set to print only in black-and-white. Resolution: Printer resolution (the sharpness of text and images on paper) is usually measured in dots per inch ( dpi). Most inexpensive printers provide sufficient resolution for most purposes at 600 dpi. Speed: If you do much printing, the speed of the printer becomes important. Inexpensive printers print only about 3 to 6 sheets per minute. Color printing is slower. More expensive printers are much faster. Memory: Most printers come with a small amount of memory (for example, one megabyte ) that can be expanded by the user. Having more than the minimum amount of memory is helpful and faster when printing out pages with large images or tables with lines around them (which the printer treats as a large image).

Plotter

A plotter is a computer printing device for

printing vector graphics. In the past, plotters were widely used in applications such as computer-aided design, though they have generally been replaced with wide-format conventional printers, and it is now commonplace to refer to such wide-format printers as "plotters," even though they technically aren't. A plotter is a vector graphics printing device to print graphical plots.

Keyboard

Keyboard typically has characters engraved or printed on the keys and each press of a key typically corresponds to a single written symbol. However, to produce some symbols requires pressing and holding several keys simultaneously or in sequence. While most keyboard keys produce letters, numbers or signs (characters), other keys or simultaneous key presses can produce actions or computer commands.

Input device

Input device is any peripheral (piece

of computer hardware equipment) used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer or other information appliance. Input and output devices make up the hardware interface between a computer and a scanner or 6DOF controller.

Input devices, such as

buttons and joysticks, can be combined on a single physical device that could be thought of as a composite device. Many gaming devices have controllers like this. Technically mice are composite devices, as they both track movement and provide buttons for clicking, but composite devices are generally considered to have more than two different forms of input.
