Introduction
For once, stop coding! The universe is a code, lets decode it! The LHC as a tool!

The Large Hadron Collider: - Build by the CERN, 2007. - After 16 years and $10 billion, on March 30, 2010, the collider finally began its work. - 10 000 physicists from more than 80 countries.

"Higher intensity means more data, and more data means greater discovery potential."
CERN director general Rolf Heuer. CERN: European Organization for Nuclear Research. Hadron is a composite particle.

The Large Hadron Collider:

Beneath the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, Switzerland.

CERN 2nd site

SPS accelerator CERN main site

Geneva Airport

LHC accelerator

The Large Hadron Collider:

27 km circumference 100 m underground

What for? The age-old Quest to Understand what The world is Made of And how it works.

The invention will help scientists unravel some of the mysteries of the universe.

The Big Bang Theory

What for?

Higher energy reproduce conditions of early universe.

Many theories but need data to distinguish between them.

TeV energy scale: expect breakdown of current calculations unless a new interaction or phenomenon appears.
Gee!

What for?
The Universe seen through the eyes of particle physics!

The standard Model. Supersymmetry . Extra dimensions.

- What is mass - how do particles get heavy? -The antimatter ? - what is the dark matter?

Whats inside?
1) Concentrate energy on particles (accelerator)

2) Collide particles (recreate conditions after Big Bang)

3) Identify created particles in Detector (search for new clues)

Facts about the LHC

The largest machine in the world. The fastest racetrack on the planet. The emptiest space in the Solar System. The hottest spots in the galaxy, but even colder than outer space.

The biggest and most sophisticated detectors ever built.

The most powerful supercomputer system in the world.

Facts about the LHC

Radiation, wormholes to a Mirror Universe, black holes..

Conclusion

An experiment taking advantage of the cutting-edge of technology to unravel one of the mysteries of the universe and may answer us why the world is as we know it is and .. Further why we are here?
